Bonnet latch

Got a bit of a annoying problem with my civic. When you pull the bonnet lever to pop it nothing happens. It seems to need two people to get the bonnet open one to pull the lever and the other to lift up the bonnet to access the latch. It's a carbon fibre bonnet and I wondered if maybe (Because it isn't exactly sitting perfectly) that the striker in the latch isn't hitting the bonnet? Or possibly the cable needs tightened? Is there a nut/bolt I can tighten to tighten the cable? Or is it a case of replacing the whole thing?

Honestly couldn't say not looked for anything to say brand bought the car with it on. It's a Jordan (ek4 basically I think). I had a quick look while bonnet was up and when the lever is pulled nothing seems to move on the latch :/
