Beaks subframe reinforcement

Hi,

I have a 22mm ek9 rear sway bar om my ek4.
I know that I must install a reinforcement kit or I risk to damage my subframe.
Here in Belgium, it's forbidden by law to change your swaybars. Don't ask me why, that's the way it is :angry2:

They're not that smart and they won't notice that my rear sway bar is bigger than stock because I use OEM endlinks & OEM ek9 sway bar.

I'm looking for pictures from the Beaks reinforcement kit on the car. If I paint them black and it's dirty under the car then I have chance they won't see it.

I searched on google but found nothing. Can anybody help me with this?
Or is there another solution, like welding a reinforcement on it like the ek9?

Thanks

im very upset right now, i just answered this question and it got erased some how, ok here we go again:

try to have them anodized so the color stays, or be sure to sand off the gold.

but if you can i think this one is much better since its one piece it should be more ridged:

keep in mind sub frame tear out can still occur with the beaks or other kits if not using stiff enough rear springs...

I go for the Beaks reinforcement and make sure the suspension is stiff enough.

I know a good place for sandblasting and powdercoating. That was the plan.

Thanks for the links en info, blinx :nice:

Pics of the Beaks kit on the car are still welcome, can't find any...

You could go with a painted ASR brace and not risk any subframe damage, but that may be too conspicuous.

the beaks kit isnt that good and subframe damage can still occur, the asr is about the best option out there but gonna be very hard to keep looking like stock

i have oem ek9 subframe sections ill sell you cheap if interested, the ek9 subframe is only available as 1 piece from honda but i got 2 sections cut out from ek9 subframe that are different/thicker, your oem just need spot welds drilling out and then these just welded on which gives you ek9 subframe BUT also has oem brackers allowing you to use oem ek9 lower tie bar which i also have and you can have for free if you want subframe sections

this is what i have (not pic of mine but just to show you sections i mean)

oh, you could say im expert on subframe damage after fitting ek9 arb on my ek4 (yes i had stiffer shock and springs fitted)

Hey iceman,

I'm very interested! I will send u a PM!
That way it will look 100% stock and I don't have to worry about subframe damage.

@blinx: thanks for the pics!!

@Dino: ASR looks the easiest solution but as I said... Belgian law sucks

iceman, if VTi-specR is not intrested in the piece, i may be...

I'm gonna buy this, blinx
I really need it. The law forces me to do it like this :)
