Ok so im thinkig of puttig a b20 bottom end ito my b16a2.To buy the b20 engine i no im talking about £500.Then the vtec coversion kit is about £200. Now what i want to no is what all do i need to do to make it higher compression so it will be able to my 8200 rev limit or maybe in future 9000?I no im looking at new pistons but what all exactly do i need and a ruff price,I no im asking alot of questions im just wondering if it would be worth it in my eyes. Also a ruff estimate on power it would be putting out would be helpful to haha cheers Philip

Theres a sticky on there on how to build a reliable b20, it will give you an idea,

Can you get it insured yet??
If not get the gear-set....

a fella in wexford used to build these he used get stock b20 block a b series head with ctr cams prelude injectors management and good intake and exhaust said they used to put out 230bhp.he said 2 grand would get all your bits and bobs.my mate has one at 250 but lot done to that.

You wont need to upgrade the bottom end to run the 8200rpm limiter. how ever for 9000rpm you will need to start considering a very well balanced bottom end, and valve train that will cope, not to mention alot of other bits.

How ever to make power at 9k will be a much higher compression and HUGE cams. Even with 11.8:1 and TodaC's My old B20 made peak at 8500rpm.

For example here is a few B20's i did last year

B20z Block
B16head - 10 thou skim
96spec ITR cams
Skunk2 intake manifold
AEM V2 intake
DC sports 2.5" 4-1 exhaust manifold
Custom 2.5" system
Stock 240cc injectors
Tuned on crome by me at our dyno

151ft/lbs and 219bhp tuned on 95 octane fuel.
Peak power was 8000rpm. so no need to rev high at all.

JDmarron on here has a B20b in his teg

B20b block
B18c4 head - 10thou skim
B18c4 cams
skunk 2 intake + 70mm throttle body
ARC chamber/spoon filter
standard 98spec exhaust manifold, cat and exhaust system
tuned on 280cc prelude injecotrs by me on crome

at our dyno

199bhp at 7800rpm
138ft/lbs of torque

Now every dyno is different, but as a comparison to 2 builds 20bhp difference but peak is with in 200rpm of each other. Danny's motor would make another 10-15bhp easily when the exhaust system is changed.
