One my friends done a conversion on his 1800 sir teg . He put in a 98 uk spec teg type r conversion .. Engine, loom and ecu .. No the problem is it won't run properly , missing like crazy and overfuelling a huge amount ... I looked at it , had a small misfire on idle , I checked the valve clearances and timing . Intake can was out a tooth .. So I dotted that . Head is noisy in it ... So I started it back up n it runs much smoother still a small misfire on idle and petrol absolutely pouring out the exhaust ... We decided to do a compression test and she was down on cylinder 2 but we didn't go do 3 or 4 because we ran out of time .. The car was ticking over for ten minutes and used half a tank of petrol ... can there be anything bent in the head or what ? I'm out of ideas

did ye see the engine running before buying it etc?

could be intake valve/valves in cylinder 2 damaged and not opening/closing on time or at all allowing a constant flow of petrol into the cylinder. the petrol wouldn all burn due to if the cylinder wasn firing properly.

half tank in ten minutes does sound mental...wouldn go that fast even with a hole in the tank!! check injectors aswel and do compression test on all remaining cylinders. i dont think the timeing out a tooth would damage valves but he could of being sold a dodgy engine..(if he didnt see it running etc) hope this helps

check the timing she can go out one tooth an she will run ok but not vtec just. sounds like a bend valve buddy. but do a test on the rest of the cylinders. did u try an other dizzy?? an make sure all earths are clean cause it could cause it 2 buddy.
