b18c cams in my b16a2

hi can i do this and would i be looking at big gains or wat cams would you recommend and would vtec engage louder and harder would i have to uprate valve springs or anything else .cheers

my mate had a b16a2 with itr valvetrain and made 174bhp in his crx,it was quick for a b16. youd need to get it remapped tho.

You will see some nice healthy gains yes. You will gain even more if you get a remap as well although not essential. It would be adviseable to swap the valve train as well but unless you up the rev-limit its not overly critical.

Definitely true right here. As far as the sound... I dont think it will be a such a dramatic difference. If you want VTEC to crack louder, get a CAI.

Very good upgrade in a B16a2, double springs wont be needed if you are keeping rev limit below 8500 which is probably where you will make power up till anyways.

i've tried the b16b cams and it was a great budget upgrade on my b16a but sold it , i want to try the b18c

b16b cams have a very simialr profile to the ITR cams - not sure if they are exactly the same or not but gains will certainly be very similar.

they are basically the same.
