Hi guys,
Im kinda new in this field...I have 99 em1 gsr swap. Nothin much in it but sk2 ultra manifold, sk2 70mm tb, 4-2-1 headers and Apexi cat...yesterday my car wasn't starting even it cranks but wont start. My buddy who is a kinda pro in this checked it out and it turned out that pistons are banged entirely. Im a big fan of b16b so I thought to put some b16b pistons into my gsr block and stock head.

Is it a good idea to do so knowing that the CR will surely jump around 12+. If not, why most peaple say use itr pistons than ctr ones on gsr block.

Is there any way to fit ctr pistons on gsr block with some MUST HAVE modifications???

Please Help a brother here.

Much thanks in Advance

Pretty sure your GSR head is higher compression than the type R too, I don't think it's the best idea. If I were you I'd just get a set of ITR pistons.

I'd also find out what actually happened to the pistons in the engine currently before rebuilding it all.
The gsr variant confuses me alittle, same stroke and bore size as the b18c just lower comp like our b18c4 engine?
