Can anyone confirm the torque spec for the b16b headbolts?
I'm using arp bolts
Cheers

were did you find 80?

i did mine up at 63ftlb last time i had the head off my b16a

There's a bit of paper in the arp box that says they reccomend 80ft/lb.

ahh yea ARP bolts will take more torque but also need to be put through heat cycles then retightened

Nice info, I didn't know that.
Is that the same for there rod bolts also?

Thats absolute horse **** mate.

ARP bolts are torqued in 3 stages, 40,60 then 80ft lbs you dont need to run the engine for say 500 miles then strip all the cams back out to tighten them up again.

mate had to do them again in his evo....maybe hondas dont need it

its not a lot of work to pull a set of cams out either way

The tightening sequence for all ARP bolts are the same, you tighten them once in 3 stages, it would be ludicrous to bring out a product that you have to go back and tighten.

Tightened my arp's to 80ftlbs. Engines on 1500 now and all is perfect.

ARP supplies a paper inside the box with the head studs that tell you the torque specs it is also on their website specific to honda, and you do not have to heat cycle and re-torque, just follow the honda torque specification and then torque to the ARP -specs. I learned that a few weeks ago when re-building my engine, hope it helps

Also worth noting is that the actual torque will change with different lubricants, use the proper moly grease and nothing else.
