ok well ive gtot my b16a2 and im planning to do a complete over haul with b16b ctr parts my question is since i would be installing the ctr pistons and the compression will be mumped up to 10:95:1 or what not, would it work with my stock ecu a p2t b16a2 ecu? and if i found a pct ecu it should all be ok right? and also would my stock fuel pump be ok?

I'm sure it isn't as simple as that. You need the block from the b16b as it is longer and so is the stroke which will mean the conrods and crank. It will be quicker just swapping the complete engines over.

Ok Ok, just to clear things up a bit. The B16A and B16B have the same stroke. It is their block heights and as a result, rod lengths that are different. If you were to install B16b cams/ full valvetrain into your B16A and compliment it with a stock B16B ecu, you would see performance that would lie somewhat in the middle of a stock B16A and stock B16B. They are other things which contribute to the B16B's maximum output. Factory port job, intake manifold, etc. Hope this helps.

i see well i am doing the conversion but as far as the rods go its will be eagle rods i beleive that im getting from my gf brother inlaw and it was in his b16a so im assuming its the same length as factory b16a rod just forged. and as far as ecu im going to run a pct ecu, but will the p73 work well too or just go with the pct? and i will be installing skunk 2 stage 1 cams which is similar to the ctr cams just slightly better

I think you might be better off using management or a chipped ecu to see the full benefits of the cams. otherwise, the stock PCT ecu would suffice.

the b16b block is the same as the b16a, or am I wrong?
The difference lies only in their caps cylinders .... or not?

no the b16b block is the same as b18c.

the b16b is effictivly a destroked b18c.

honestly just get a b18c it will work out to be cheaper and betterpower for the money.

only reason im doing it becuase i need a rebuild and on top i cant afford the extra money to buy another block which could range anywhere from 400 to 800, when i would be happy with mine

bear in mind guys that there are some countries in the world where it is much cheaper and more cost effective to use parts of either the B16B/B18C than it is to replace the entire engine.
