Hello,

I'm curious how many people from Scotland are active here ?

Reason is that, next week, I am going on vacation to Scotland (my home is in Belgium). Me and my cousin will be travelling from Glasgow, along the west-coast, to Loch Ness. And then back south to Edinburgh (10 days total).

So if anyone from this forum lives in that area, don't hesitate to let me know here !! Especialy if you own a 9  (I've never seen one in real life!)

Greetzz!
:D

Im from Aberdeen which you may well pass through on your way to inverness depending on which way you go.. There are 1, possibly 2 people on here from Aberdeen with 9's, i aint one of them but soon i hope :) Have a nice trip..

Im from Inverness which you will pass on your Loch Ness trip :D so you may see my 9 going about (the only one here anyway)

Loch Ness???:nerv:
The only thing I know about Scotland is football clubs Rangers, Celtic, and the Loch Ness lake monster!!
What about you, do you believe to this legend? :D

do you believe to this legend? :D

I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of Nessie !! :D

We won't be passing Aberdeen, because that's way on the east coast of Scotland, and we will be travelling along the west coast. (I made a typo in my first post, but I edited it now)

@ Chona: Is Inverness a cool town and worth seeing ?

if your nearby then its worth a trip depends what you want to see though.

One of the things we definitely want to do is visit "Isle of Skye", and then from there on, we'll go somewhere near Loch ness.

Do you have any suggestions on which route is fun to do, to travel from Isle of Skye to Loch Ness ?

We' re not "typical tourists", we just want to see some cool towns, nature,... typical scottish things.

the road from Fort Augustus to Skye is good fun i took my old 9 along there nice open roads, and very quiet only passed a few cars the whole time (one being Mr Jay Kay in his DB9 :p )
back from Skye i would just take the same route back to Fort Augustus and then your driving along beside Loch ness the whole way to Inverness passing Urquhart Castle etc. In Inverness you can go to Dorres where theres a nice we pub and beach and try spy Nessie herself :D lol
ORRRR if your into single track roads there is one from Skye to Inverness Via Gairloch

Allright, that sounds nice. Could you give me some more details about that road from Skye to Fort August ? (road number or so?)

Do you live in the town Inverness itself, or nearby it ?

I dont think its signposted for Skye if i remember correctly its Kyle Of Lochalsh you are looking for road number From Fort William to Fort Augustus is A82 then Fort Augustus is the A87 it takes a good hour to get there once you turn of

Ok, thanks ! :nice:

So, we'll be passing pretty close to you then, if we are going to Inverness. Do you live in Inverness itself, of somewhere near it ?

bit late with my reply now..... but i live in Aberdeen and have an EK9 :D

Hehe, indeed. We've been back in Belgium since thuesday.
Our trip was really amazing. Scotland is very niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice !! And friendly people too, damn I almost couldn't believe it (once, we asked someone for directions, and he just spontaneous asked: where you from, what's you're name,... and hé shook our hands and wished us good luck on our trip !!)

We drove a bit more than 1000 miles through Prestwick -> Loch lomond -> Glenncoe -> Isle of Skye -> Plockton -> Loch Ness & Inverness -> Pitlochry -> Edinburgh -> Prestwick

Great landscapes, great atmosphere in the pubs, great people, great country man !!

Too bad I didn't see any EK9's though :( But I did see a hell lot of other Type-R's !!
about 15 EP3's, 6 FN2's and even 1 JDM DC2 !!! I really couldn't believe it. In Belgium I've seen maybe like 5 Type-R's in 1 year !!
Lots of Impreza Sti's too, and I even saw 1 Nissan Skyline R32 !! :nice:

Greetzz!
Thumbs up for Scotland ! :nice:

People from Scotland are awesome! I want to visit Scotland some day! :) Congratulations for your trip!

good stuff glad you had a good trip :D

Hehe, thanx.

You were from Inverness right ?

Well we stayed in the "Inverness student youth hostel" there. It was a real nice place with lots of cool people, nice "rock & roll" atmosphere there. I definitely recommend it !!

Being from Inverness, you will probably know that there was a fire, the night of thursday 20 september. Actually that fire was right across our youth hostel. We were busy cooking in the kitchen, until at a certain moment we looked through the window and saw flames shooting through the roof of the building across !! :nerv: Everybody ran outside to see it !

@ vtecroadhog:

yeah, we 've got lots of pics. I'll see if i can get some online...

Ahh you were here when we had the fire i was about in my EK9 that night until i couldnt get over the fire hose and had to go home
