first of all welcome to the forum,

Ek9s are v good cars inside and out but obviusly any car can be in poor condition if it has had an owner who wasn't really bothered with it but the majority of people who own an ek9 realise what a privlidge it is and look after them as best they can.

It is a honda, honda are reknown for the reliability of there cars i think it was jeramy clarkson that gave the firgure when testing an s2000 out of 15 million vtec engines that had been built not one came back with a problem! i think that speaks for its self.

The ek9 Type r version of the ek's is the highest spec ek that can be bought.

My advise is read some posts on here watch some youtube videos and look at some specs given on the car and i think you'll find it a very easy decision to make on weather or not to get one!

if you got a ek9 you would love it. the ek9 wasn't built for its straight line speed its all about the overall driving experience which many fast and powerful cars wouldn't come close to it. the ek9 is faster than the ep3 (younger brother) 0-60 but the ep3 would have it from 60 onwards due to the increase in torque. but if you can afford it get a ek9. o yer and :welcome:

Welome to the forum Chris!

As jason100 said the car is not built to be super quick in a straight line but give a corner and I don't think the EP3 is as good, personal opinion. The EK9 is really well set up and lighter helping to make it such balanced and thrilling drive. You'll be surprised what these little go karts can actually keep up with.

Reliability wise you really can't go wrong, these honda engines are built to last as long as maintain them properly.

Tbh, your coming to an ek9 forum asking is an ek9 any good, you should know the answers your gonna get :p

No offence but from the sound of your post, you only want one because your friends have them. IMO buy the car YOU want and don't be a lemming.

But as stated above, the EK9 is a very good vehicle. Designed for track, keep this in mind as also stated above, it's not built for straigh line speed (drag racing to some).
