I'm looking to buy 4 tyres for an Ek9 and I'm just wondering what people would recommend. I know the tyre size they come with from the factory is 195/55 r15 but what speed and load ratings are they? I want to buy tyres that have good grip in the dry and wet for road driving but could also be used on track if I wanted. Any advice is appreciated! :)

For the price go for the Federal 595 RS-R like what others said. Has anyone used them in the wet yet? Every time I am on track its a dry session so I am not sure how well they are in the wet.

The federals aren't to good in the wet, slightly better than the r888 tho. I'd recommend yokohama advan neova for everyday driving and the occasional trackday. You'll probably find 195/50 will be cheaper tho. As for the speed rating, the advans are 82v. I paid £306 for mine about 2 months ago.

The rsr's are good in the wet they move the water well grip the road. ^^ How you finding my old wheels?

Old wheels? The federals are a semi-slick at the end of the day, I didn't rate them on my crx

Sorry mate talking to IntermaN. Had the RSR's on my 9 and handled well in the wet and dry. Got ad08's on the mps and there good wet and dry and even standing water!

Im using Toyo proxie4's atm and they are holding up very well!! never gave a moment of slip on the evo triangle, the only bit that slowed me down was the facy I didnt have bigger bollox

Would the R888s not be a bit dodgy in the wet for everyday driving? Id say they have loads of grip on a dry road. Any decent websites to get them from? Where can Potenzas be bought? Im having trouble finding anywhere in Dublin that sells high performance tyres.

Potenza RE-11's

Dont get them in Europe Tama :(

Tuning Factory still stock hankook Rs-2's AFAIK , they are a pretty decent tyre :nice:

They are very good, all holding up well to some track abuse :thanks:

Hopefully I will get to test them in the wet soon.

Thanks for all the advice lads. I've been looking into getting a set of Ad08s. Anybody know any good places to get them?

I think the R888's do better in wet over my RE11's...go figure.

get some rsr, great in the dry and okay in the wet, ive heard ad08s are terrible in the wet once the tread goes down a bit, not from personal experience tho, from what other people have told me. its more of a summer tyre...i have the rsr and am very happy with it
