hi guys, looking for quotes to get an ek9 resprayed white. can anyone recommend a good place in the suffolk area? also roughly the price? one place quoted £1500,

Price sounds about right to me as long as there is no major body work needed.

I would make sure that they're planning on removing trim pieces i.e. rub strips, skirts etc. if they'e left on then the edge of the finish can be poor. I would have the rear windows taken out too just to make sure there are no masking lines left behind.

Little things like that can make the world of difference.

That sounds not bad for a respray.

Be wary of places that quote well below that price.

Paying someone £800 for a respray sounds good, until you have to take it elsewhere to have the poor work corrected.

Pistonheads forum might be good for recommendations as there will be a larger variation in cars that have had paint in your area.

i wouldnt get it done until you seen the work they can do, get up close on a car they have sprayed already would be best.

Like said above id take everything off that you can, ive seen a few spray jobs where you can tell the car hasn't been masked right, bits of paint on trim pieces, overspray etc...

personally id prep the car myself, would save alot of money but depends how much money you have to burn, get them to do it if your rich :nice:

Price sounds about right same as what mine costed with new arches and smoothed bits included! Prewar windows out is a must

wow thanks for all the info guys. its just finding someone who u can trust to do a decent job. found a place in milldenhall called baker body works, and they check the job at yearly intervals for 3 years to ensure their work. so its not standard practice to remove rear windows? do i have to ask for this seperatly or not?

As the windows are sealed in it will cost extra as usually the paint shop have to get someone in the take them out and set them back in.

Not sure if it's standard practice but I would expect a good shop to suggest this to the customer or just include it in the price to begin with.

I know these are miles away from you, but I'd never go anywhere else.

They built the Hel S2000. The work on my MK1 MX5 was utterly amazing, true car people - not in it for the money.
You know someone is good when half of their shop is full of Integrale's!!
