I came accross this on another forum, and i thought some of you would like to see what can actually be achieved when you go all-out, prepping a B-series honda for Racing.
This particular car was used by David Leslie and James Kaye in the BTCC in 1995.
The spec list is unreal. Sequential gearbox, custom built suspension, twin 180degress rotated calipers on the front and a 325hp engine with dry sump!!!!!

Build number 003, driven in the British Touring Car Championship by James Kaye & David Leslie.

So what engine did it start as? Cos BTCC was 2.0 litre formula back then? B18 bored or stroked? Or custom build?

it looks like a h series head anyway ,

would like to know the full engine spec to get it upto that hp:nice:

Its an F20B just like the JTCC accords I think , because Honda made the f20 for 2000cc racing classes

This is much more likely. Highly doubt the Super touring Accord's would use a B series. At the very least it would be a heavily tuned, sleeved H series or the F20.

I wish BTCC would return to a formula of cars more like the old super tourers. They looked absolutely amazing were properly quick and sounded ace, especially the Volvo S40's. Current BTCC cars are too heavy and too tame although I do approve of the new turbo engines. Avensis was belching some pretty big flames at Snetterton. :))

they switch the head 360' !
this way they have the itb's straight to the cold air !!
ace epic win ! !

Vauxhall did the same thing.

I too wish btcc would go back to this formula,it was proper.racing where now it has been pants for years!

Yeah a few people above are right its an F20B engine NOT B-series.
Sure it been done with a H-series too but cant remember.

There's a lot of info about and detailed specs and stuff around some where.

Apparently with doing the head turn-around (with ITB's obviously) you get good power from just doing that alone. Wanted to have a go myself as some one built one in the US and put it into an Odyssey, but its not easy, and a proper potch to do if i remember rightly.

Love all F-series and H-series engine's. Their immense.

Really miss all the old touring cars as well, the new ones are shite compared.

Wow that's crazy. Just goes to show the level of skill and workmanship that goes into BTCC cars, I'm younger so I never got to see the older cars but if this is to go by then bring them back :D

Here in Greece someone bought two accords from BTCC and one civic from JTCC the accords are H22A destroked and the civic is F20B
