Hello Folks I am looking around for my car at the moment and I am wondering what is acceptable mileage?

Anything above …… is a no no

Or anything below ……. Is good etc.etc.

Any help would be great.

I have found a few but are all in the 80-87 thousand miles? What you think?

cheers

:nice:

Let me tell you what I think. No matter what car you want to buy.....don't just base your decision on the mileage that you see on the cluster even if you are 100% sure its not altered. The car might have 100,000 kms with an engine having a lot of wear due to the previous onwer(s) mistreat, or it might have 200,000 and being in excellent condition.
In case your mechanic will confirm you that your engine is running fine , then don't stuck on the mileage and buy it. If you want a B16B engine, then the mileage you refer to is almost nothing in terms of wear(if, I repeat it was properly treated), A friend of mine, owns a 250,000 kms EK9 and his engine has crystal clear sound, like new :wow: Its not modded though :D
Its good however, to search for an engine with low mileage, preferably less than 60,000 miles (~100,000 kms)

my b16b has 35000miles on it, it was driven extremely hard by the previous owner, oil is still clear after 3000miles of hard driving though :nice:

i agree with manos.

replied to your pm.

if you buy a car make sure it has import docs which show the mileage in km's so you know its not been clocked.

imports under 60,000 miles or 100,000 km's are generally alot more expensive as the japanese wants them, over that the price drops alot when importing.

i would go with the advice above and buy the car on condition, not mileage.

I totally agree, I don't care about the mileage, just take the car to the mechanic and he will tell you the engine status and stuff :nice:

Depending on where the car is from and how many miles on it, it may have a lot of rust. Rust really sucks, so I would go for a car with as little miles as possible. My car for example had 160,000 northeastern US miles on it, so some of the parts are rusty. It would say its probably easier to fix a tired engine than a rusty chassis.
