99-00 ek sat nav system and climate control

i have a 99-00 civic climate control with built in sat nav system, is in my 96 ek sir and doesnt work. You can get them to work in 96-98 ek's but its a lot of work, it'll go straight into a 99-00 model. Quite a snazzy bit of kit and vveerrrryyy rare. Make me a decent offer if your interested

no, this navigation works only in japan but you can still use cd, cassette player and the radio.

yes and no, it's p&p when you only use the heater. If you want to power up monitor you need to do some electronic work

I'm afraid you can't get the nav to work, and you will need a bandwith expanded to play uk radio stations as jdm stereos can only pick up radio 2.

i guess the person that bought it couldn't get it to work. i was looking at this for my em1 till i found it on here and read this on the honda tech forum.

JDM EK9 EK4 SIR OEM HONDA Civic CTR Navigation Monitor on eBay (end time 24-Dec-10 23:15:12 GMT)


This system requires the same identical pieces as the regular EK4 Auto Climate control. However, it does require addtitional electronics. You also need a a EK4/EK9 RHD dash harness with a built-in Navigation sub-harness, and lower navigation support bracket to mount and secure it in the dash. You also need a EK4 Lower Tape Deck, because the circuit board for the audio controls is inside it. In addition you also need the navigation software disk, Gathers SA-196 Media Tuner and wire harness. There is a satellite antenna that monitors traffic via road sensors, but since your not in Japan you don't need that. You can install the FM band expander if you want, but I think you will have much more pleasure from installing an XM Black Box Like I did. That will allow you to pipe in a satellite feed into the system and get a lot more channels. Like anything, it also requires a monthy subscription fee.

i was going to put a nice hefty bid till reading the above, as a nice collectors item i would want to be able to use it.

VS-196 Media tuner not SA. BTW you only need this if you want to play playstation or add DVD player like I did
