1997 Honda Civic Type R B16B
due to a change in personal circustances i am having to sell my 1997 EK9.

car still reads in KM as it has never been converted.hopefully proves that its never been clocked.
the car was imported into the country in November 2007 and was on the road from around december 2007. I have most of the original import documents stating auction details and grading etc. the car was bought at auction as a grade 4B. so at the time a very good example with a few minor cosmetic faults.
the car has AC ,manual windows and electric mirrors (non folding)
the car has a long MOT ending in November 2010. and it flew through its last test with only a faulty fog light and the headlights needed a slight clean.
the car has some service history, 1 original stamp from honda when the car was first on the road and i have the receipt for the latest service done Feb 2010. i have changed the oil myself every 6 months and done basic service parts etc but due to a house move have misplaced these receipts. I spent over £500 on the latest service including, the full service, a new rear wheel bearing and a new rear exhaust section.there is one receipt from japan which looks like a service receipt and there are loads of stickers in the door jam proving history etc.
cosmetically on the outside the car is in very good condition, there are a few small car park dinks that can be seen in the right light at the right angle but 90% of the time you wont spot them and a few light service scratches as you wuold expect for a vehicle of its age. The worst of the car is the front bumper which has suffered from alot of stone chips, a common problem that could be easily fixed but as i was using the car for a commute every day i didnt bother to get it done. recently i have fully degreased, Clay bar'd, cleaned, polished and waxed the car so its in a good way for at least a little while.
the wheels sadly have suffered a bit, there are car park scuffs on two of them that are very noticeable and the all the wheels have started to suffer from slight flaking.
front tyres are good but rears may need replacing in a few months.
interior is in good condition for its age, i havent got round to cleaning it as of yet but it should be done before sale. the drivers bolster is showing wear as most recaros do. and the steering wheel is also showing quite alot of wear.the drivers mat also has two worn holes in it from heel positions. these are all common problems but im hoping its all reflected in the starting price.
engine wise there are no leaks and i have never had any problems what so ever with the car starting or running. its the first car hat has never ever let me down!. there is some slight flaking on the rocker cover.

the gearbox and clutch feel fine on the car and apart from the odd cold morning where first needs a wiggle i have never had any problems. however at around 2500 -3000 revs in 4th or 5th there is sometimes a rattle from what i believe is the clutch release bearing. i have had honda and another garage give me their opinion and as there is no clutch slip or problems engaging and disengaging gears they advised me to leave it.
personally i would rather be completely honest regarding this fault as i love this car to bits and want someone to enjoy it as i have.
1 reason i havent had the clutch changed prior to selling is that if i was doing the job myself i would probably use a stage 2 clutch for more bite and better strength and also fit a light weight fly wheel while the box was off. but obviously as im not keeping it you will have the option.

the car at present is not insured so any test drive will have to be arranged as i will have to organise insurance for the day/week etc. you will also need to prove you are insured to drive another vehicle and also leave something as a guarantee in the case of damage.
i will require a 10% deposit within the first 12 hours of the winning bid and then cash on collection

i will be gutted to see this car go as i love it so much and they are great cars to drive and yet still reliable for everyday use.
