Not much happened recently due to money shortages and the fact that the Civic is last on my car ownership priority list behind 4 other vehicles.
Roof lining went in the bin along with some bulkhead padding. Mudflaps came off too. Race cars don’t need mudflaps. Ill bung them on eBay when I get chance. Passenger airbag has gone in the bin but I replaced the dash pad to make it look better than a big gaping hole.
Steering wheel was a bitch to get off because both the airbag bolts rounded off. Once they were drilled out it came off. I decided to be a cheapskate and see how bad these stupidly cheap Chinese bosses were and for a whole £6.25 delivered I got an eBay China special boss. It felt cheap, looked cheap and when I fitted it the splines only held on by 2mm and tightening it pushed the self-cancelling back so it didn’t work. Then it instantly cracked in half so that’s how rubbish they are. It went straight in the bin and I ordered a HKB boss from Tegiwa which fitted perfectly. I've also got a decent quick release boss and wheel adapter so I can fit my nardi wheel. Moral of the story is: DON’T BUY CHEAP BOSSES!
New hkb boss, quick release and wheel on. Also short shift fitted.
Got given a gear lever extension to go with my short shift. Scene as hell and eliminates work the short shift does but least the lever is closer to me.
Chopped the trim bits out of the rear bumper. Got carried away with the air saw so it’s a bit wavey in places. Was going to do a matching cut out lower down but I’ll probably make a mess of it so I think I’ll leave it as is for now.
Bent the passenger wing by hand so that the front bumper would bolt up correctly again. Needs a new wing really.
Bought a D16Z6 inlet, injectors, fuel rail, TB and wiring harness for really cheap so ill work out how to fit the inlet at some point.
Gave one of the Rial wheels a trial fit. I think they will look alright in gold when the car is on coilovers.
Then I went to fit the lower subframe brace. First bolt came out fine. 2nd one snapped.
At this point I'm now wondering how to get it it out and im deflated on the project.
If anyone is interested in buying it off me, Ill take what it owes me to get rid. £400 with everything (minus the nardi and quick release which I'll keep but I'll throw in the brand new hkb boss).

Civic ej9. 182k miles. 3 weeks mot. Cat C write off because of dented wing. Stripped interior. Snapped bottom lca bolt. 3 keys but one worn so you have to hold the coded key to the ignition barrel and start the car with a spare none coded key.
