Here for sale is my 2004 facelift Honda Civic EP3 Type R In Nighthawk Black. After owning the car for just a month I have decided I would like an older civic as I prefere older cars. Genuine reason for sale.
The car is in excellent condition and has only covered 33k miles from new, I have a full service history to prove this. The car is not a daily driver, nor do i use it to commute to and from work, the car is only really used at the weekend and i work every second weekend and I also own another car. I am the 3rd owner from new and the previous owner who i purchased the car from was an older man which i was very happy about when i went to view the car as i didnt want it to be your usual abused Type R. I searched high and low to find a genuine, unabused and low mileage example and after viewing 2 previous to this, this one was the cleanest. I paid good money for the car and i'm looking to break close to even on the car which is why the asking price is slightly lower than what i paid for the car
Exterior
The exterior of the car is very clean with only a few minor stone chips and a small scratch at the bottom left of the rear bumper and a small ding in the drivers door. I am a keen detailer and use only the best products on the car and it is throughly cleaned twice weekly regardless of wither it has been driven or not. The car is first cleaned with a citrus pre cleaner and then washed with a two bucket method to prevent damage being inflicted on the cars finish. The car is also regularly clayed and wax topped up as and when needed. If the asking price is met i will personally complete a full detail on the car which will include a 2 stage machine polish to rid the car of any swirl marks or fine scratches in the paint.
Interior
The interior of the car is totally standard, is very clean and everything works and lights up as it should, slight wear on the drivers side mat with the usual heel spots. The seats are in great condition and have only recently been put back in after i removed both front seats to hoover underneath them and to shampoo the seats and carpets with dedicated car interior cleaner and remove any dirt that may have been in the seats or carpet, pictures of both seats are present but any close ups or pictures of specific parts of the seats can be taken no problem and sent to any potential buyer as i know seats are a big factor when buying one of these cars . The car has never been smoked in by any of its owners i was assured this by the previous owner as he told me he asked the same question when he purchased the car from the owner before him, there is no evidence to suggest it has either.
Engine
The engine is very very strong as you would expect with the car having such low mileage, vtec engages as it should at 6200rpm and does not emit any smoke atol. The car is always warmed up and cooled down properly as i do with both of my cars, never taken above 3.5k revs before the car and gearbox are up to operating tempreture, the car is always ran on Shell V'Power. The engine burns no oil and i personally carried out one oil and filter change since i bought the car this was the first thing i done even though the oil was already clean when i bought the car, the oil used was the reccomended by Honda Castrol Edge 0w-30 Fully Synthetic. The previous owner also fitted a new battery to the car during its final service in his ownership. The engine bay itsself is very clean as i am very fussy with engine bays being clean as you can probably see in the pictures. The standard air box was replaced with an Aem V2 induction due to a friend of mine haveing a new one hanging around his house he never fitted and gave it to me as he no longer owned a Honda, really does give a nice note when vtec comes in. If the asking price is met i can have the car serviced ready for pick up from a local honda specialist who is very highly regarded with all cars but mainly Hondas the service will include spark plugs, oil and filter change, please note a small deposit will have to be left for obvious reasons.
Gearbox
The gearbox is in perfect condition with no clunks, grinds or crunches when changing gear at any RPM and the car does not suffer from sticking when going into 2nd gear as alot of EP3's do when the gearbox is cold
Wheels,Brakes and Tyres
The car comes with standard wheels and in my opinion are the only thing that let the car down a tad the previous owners wife occasionally drove it to work and there is some minor kerbing present, if myself and the new owner come to a deal i can have the wheels fully refurbished by a reputable company, again please note this will only be carried out if a deposit to cover these costs is left for obvious reasons. Tracking on the car is perfectly straight and the cv joints and track rod ends are all perfect.
Brakes on the car still have loads of life in them with the previous owner again changing i beleive the front pads during its last service in his ownership brakes feel very responsive and well weighted.
Tyres on the car are bridgestone Potenzas all round this is the tyres that Honda reccomend for the car and all tyres have loads of life left in them the front tyres were changed around 3000 miles ago
All in all this is an extremely good example of the EP3 Type R and i am in no rush to sell nor will i accept any silly offers, I have seen ones with higher mileage and much worse condition go for alot more. Any inspection of the car is more than welcome. I have tried to be as honest as i can and if anyone viewing the car spots something i have missed i will hold my hands up as im not trying to trick anyone here
Both keys and fobs for the car are present and working.
Car has just had a major service including plugs,oil,oil filter, gearbox oil, valve clearances and timing chain with receipt to prove this. (28 May 2013)
