As much as I regret this I am putting my EK9 up for sale! I want to try and sort out my finances a lil bit so unfortunately i'm selling up...

Right where to start...

I've been a member on here for some time now. I can't fault this club you guys are brill so hope it goes to a good home :)
If it's needed it, it's got it, or it's been upgraded! It's always been run on 97+ ron fuel.

Spec

Car
It's a 1997 EK9 Type R, has 84,000 miles was imported in april 2004
I brought the car the 18th Feb and I am the 6th owner... Washed and waxed regularly without fail, clayed two or three times since i've owned the car.

MOT runs out March 2010 and TAX expires at the end of september. No rolling road printout but it is in the region of 180BHP as a friend of mine has a crx del sol sir and his rolling road was 177.2 BHP and my EK9 is that little bit quicker performance wise!
I did have it rolling roaded a while ago and it came out at 142... Since discovered the tester printed out the wheel bhp not the overall hp lol

Bad bits
Body work is usual for a 12 year old car... a few minor stone chips on the front bumper etc and a few minor scratches on the lower front splitter and rear bumper but other than those the bodywork is pretty damn good, as mentioned before it's washed at least two times each week usually with a polish aswell. Have clayed it myself a few times since owning the car too.
The drivers side seat bolster is worn, common on these recaros but you can buy new bolsters for approx £35

Car always starts first time. Pulls amazingly and never any smoke when vtec engages.

I think i've covered everything but if you have any questions please feel free to ask! I've been as honest as i've can and tried to remember everything! I will update the ad if I remember anything else!

I'm asking £5000 ono for the car as it is (price for ek9.org, I have advertised it elsewhere for £5250)

This may seem abit steep to some and with the market the way it is etc
If you think it's not going to sell well ok thanks for you opinion. This is my asking price. I'm not overly happy to sell this car as it's my pride and joy I love it to bits.
It's based on the rarety of the car and all the extra bits!

It looks mint man, and worth every penny imo. Good luck with the sale:nice:

Cheers for the kind comments guys! Yea will be a bit gutted (or a lot lol) to see it go, but don't want to take the risk with work at the mo

Hi mate I have only just found this on here :-( I messaged from Pistonheads about it, I am looking to vies the car, please reply to my email.

You say "Air con has been removed (by myself) however I still have all the parts for it to be re-insalled and the parts are in good condition", can this be installed for me as I would like Aircon again (does this work fully also mate)?

One last thing, in the pistonheads advert it says you brought the car the 18th Feb and I am the 6th owner, is there any reason this has had so many owners in the last 5yrs??? May sonud odd but need to know

PS Loving the wheels in green, looks cool imo and finally can you please advise me as to when the water pump, tensioner, valve clearances, cambelt, bushes were last done and also clutch :)

Cheers

Carl

Im so sure this is JohnF's old one...Would have been one of the first in the country if it is

TTS on the last 3 digits mean it was first registered in Dundee,my cousin imported this and then sold it to john.
D'JANEIRO Look at the number plate the last 3 digits are the same as yours, and i registered yours there,my prefacelift also ended in TTS registered there too.

Guys I am looking at this car tomorrow PM if all goes to plan, can anyone advise on its history, anyone here an ex owner of the car as I doubt the current owner will mind me saying I was worried abotu a few things such as the amount of owners being 6 inc currwent owner since UK imported in 2004, this is on average only 8 months per owner???

Also the cars mileage (nothign major) apart form the fact there is no proof of a cambelt, waterpump and tensioner or ny bushes being replace.

Anyone know this car or any previous owners of it, cheers

Carl

Had no idea about the TTS stuff guys thats cool to know lol and l have no probs at all if anyone wants to give any info to carl... I'm 99.99% sure if he comes to view the car he'll be driving off in it lol :)

lol. Just realised I am part of the TTS crew.

@ TypeRuss - Off topic dude but have you ever had any probs with the police with your number plate positioned inside the car?
I've been thinking about doing it for a while as it looks miles better than in the centre of the front bumper on my car

Is Euan your cousin?!?

Ricky is my cousin, its a long story, they had a kind of buisness together years back (well back when this was sold so 6 years ago),but i was at school with Ewen and he's a good friend of mine to this day, spend most weekends round at Ewen's garage.

the TTS crew is the elite lol.
:nice:

the first couple of owners would have been,my cousin then John fallon, dunno the rest,my cousin would have registered it then sold it straight away,ek9's were rare back then and big money, sva rules werent the same it was probably brung in on the disabled drivers loophole before it was closed.

In regards to the number plate... Nope not had any issues whatsoever! I do keep some sticky pads in the car so if worst case scenario happens l can just stick it on in front of them kinda thing... :)

Think twice more b4 u sell...its a great looking car i know how i felt when i sold me first one...dont think it going happen again any time soon... If my finances stress me out now i going find some other alternative...lol
