A good bucket seat. Not having to grip onto the steering wheel to try hold your body upright on corners makes a lot of difference to driving. After that brakes, suspension, bushes. Get the car stopping and cornering good before making it go faster.

Are you using the C4's duel runner intake manifold? I would imagine an MB6 throttle cable would work best.

Bumping this up as after doing some reading Im sure I need the ring gear from an LSD box so if anyone has one??

Yeah tried this before and it was too soft and the front sat way too low.
