There is 3 vsm ek9s that i know of near norwich. me with pre facelift from wymondham way, another prefacelift ive seen in costessy and facelift from watton way.

do you mean the cam caps that hold cams into head. If you do you cant use cam caps off another head as they are line bored and will all be slightly different. need buy head really or have yours reline bored

sounds like fuel stavation to me have you let fuel get really lo could have draged some crap out of tank and blocked filter.
