Iv had my civic since april and loved every minute of it, by car the best car iv had so far!

Its a vsm ej9 with a b16a2: spec when bought

dc sports front and rear upper strut braces

1st thing was to waxoyl the car to protect it!

i also painted the rear drums and front calipers black while i had car on ramp!

Then my garage was moving premises so i was just using the car, new unit and the workshop at my disposal when ever i like.

As you may have guessd by the workshop we're a landrover specialist.

This is how the car stayed for a while, this picture was taken just before japfest2. Made the trip to japfest with a good mate of mine, he was in his crx.

fitted some DOHC stickers

The car had a few bits i wasnt happy with, the type r badge on the back covering where a badge had been badly removed, and the wheels didnt do it for me colour wise. Had the boot lid resprayed and the wheels refurbed! Also bought a s80 LSD s mine has a 3rd gear crunch

Thats how the car currently stands, been used everyday. Then i obviously had the craving for more power, after a conversation with b18C'R EK decided b18 was the way to go. Then this came up for sale,

im sure some of you will have seen it for sale on ebay, me and my mate whos a sprayer have gone halfs as a project. Got our recovery driver to pick it up for us, rota alloys, carbon bonnet, eibach springs, tokico shocks, powerflow backbox.
Plan is to take the engine out of my car and put it in the saloon to make it a runner to sell. Then the profit from selling will be used to fund a new engine for mine, while its off the road plan is to pollybush and ball joints. Car wil also be getting resprayed. My Mate who i bought the saloon with is going to respray it for nothing, he has a mx5 project that i wi be fitting a the bits to for him after he has painted it. This brings us up to date as tonight i started taking the engine out of the saloon.

As always comments, good and bad welcome. Should be more to follow tomorrow as i hoping to have the engine lifted out, got one driveshaft and mounts left.

having a brew and admiring my handy work!

Thats pretty much where it stands now, unfortunately the saloon clutch and my clutch are both nakkered and not worth putting back. As work was so busy after i got saloon engine out didnt get chance to strip gearbox off and check clutch so im sort of stuck now! The supplier we use, i think is open between christmas and new year so going to try source a clutch then and get it back in before i get back to work in new year.

silver civic is class looking! love the splitter. Land rover specialist eehhh? must be FLAT out all the time....

loving the updates mate, the sedans geting there slowly

as above loving the vsm

I like how your flipping a different car to fund your project. Hopefully your able to recoup enough extra cash to get your swap complete. It will be interesting to see just how much you pay out of pocket at the end of your engine swap. Nice thread!

Looks decent and nice progress mate! I definitely prefer the newer wheels..
I also like the saloon :)

I think that hatch's going to need some bigger rear breaks :naughty: Them drums must be struggling . .. Nice work though :nice:

No pictures of new rad fitted but as you can see old ones was pretty nakkered. Fitted a tegiwa alloy radiator looed decent quality!

When swapping things over on mine, realised both mine and the saloons clutch' was goosed. Fitted a new clutch and release bearing.

All fitted back in and bolted up, just need to get a OS drive shaft seal and a NS inner CV boot. Might be able to get hold of a CV boot tomorrow but seal will be in the new year from dealer.

Also need new bottom ball joints as the was pretty nakkered so changed them while driveshafts are out.

So thats as it stands at the moment, pretty much ready to start up and go. My sprayer mate painted the rocker cover tonight so that was just drying off, got some service bits for the car. Will get it MOT' at work in new year and then ue it whie its for sale.

Craig.

Slight update but no pictures. Dealer was back open today to got a driveshaft seal ordered up, also need a ns inner cv boot that will be with me tomorrow. Hopefully will be drivable then. My main issue is I'm having an immobiliser issue, whenever I open a door or crank the ignition the hazards flash as if its immobilised and I'm getting no fuel! I'm guessing the immobiliser is cutting the feed to the pump. Not sure on what the problem is. Dealer said they will get someone to ring us tomorrow to ask technical advice and I do know a pretty decent car spark who probably be able to help. Other than that I'm on the big save to put money into my hatch now.

Been a while since I updated this. Saloon is finished and up for sale, Hopefully will sell soon to fund engine for mine.
Made a 400 mile round trip today to get a bonnet I won on eBay and luckily the guy had a rocker cover he practically gave to me!

Me and carlton_nc made the trip in his works van. Sorry for the poor quality iPhone pics
