EM_DEE's EM1 BUILD

Thanks guys!

Yeah those rims are staying on for the time being.

As CR1S said, I'll be getting other things done before rims.

Cheers again for the complements guys!

New ones, taken by my mate, "nGtim"

Oh and, stupid, stubborn foggy headlight ftl. It only happens in like 1/10 washes. It shits me.

I got a new camera, so expect this thread to b updated with photos every now and again.

coupe looks great bud....and the paint looks minty from the pics :D

i like the oem rims but as said when your ready to fork out on rims go for
it and it will just finish the car off :win:

Thanks guys.

Yeah could really love rims. But will probably do interior before I get them; seats etc.

The "P Plate" is kinda like the wakaba plates in Japan I guess. It's while you're not on "full" license, ie. when you're still a probationary driver.

Over here, EM1s go from $16,000 - $11,000 depending the KM and the Condition. Luckily for me, I got mine for alittle bit lower then the above :nice:

Nothing new on the car as of yet (soon to be on the hunt for a driver's seat; I hope..)

But here's some new pics I took..

(the 3 wheelin' wasn't intentional lol was just trying to reverse up next to my mate..)

Shame your so far away i have a lovely drivers seat for sale!

Coupe looks great, gotta love the 3 wheelin' shots aswell :D

Tell me about it Neil, sometimes I wish I was closer to the UK for the cars + parts! ahah

Thanks Topher!

JULY 2010

So as I said I was looking for a drivers side seat, so I went to a trader down here as I had brought things off him before and noticed he had a few recaro/bride seats. Rocked up pretty set on getting a red bride zeta 2 or 3. Turned out he had none left, except for one in his car which he was willing to sell to me. The only thing was it was in average (patched) condition and a navy blue colour ( I wasn't a fan of the colour).

Abit dissapointed I then resorted to checking out his recaros. I found a decent condition one which I then opted for, he also gave me a reasonable deal which was nice of him. The only thing was ..he didn't have any EK rails in stock  Now I have to wait a week or two till he sources and brings one down from Jap Land.

So now I have this seat which I want to put in my car, but can't as I don't have rails for it (yeap, I've looked at other local places and there's nothing.)

Anyway, here she is chillin' on her lonesome.

So the seat rail finally came in yesterday.

I went to pick it up, and install it last night but had acouple of problems..

All was going good to take the stock seat out untill I got upto the seat belt bold (which had a 14mm head) and the biggest I had was 13mm. Soo a trip to the 24hr KMART store had to be done. Came back, got it off, YAY!

So I go to take the stock rail off the stock seat thinking I can use bolts from there for the recaro. Wrong! I can't find any bolts on the stock seat which are small enough! I looked around in the garage but couldn't find anything that would fit! So back again I went to KMART. By now it's 12am, I'm tired as and it's mad foggy outside. Came back with a 32pc assorted nut and bold packet thinking my odds of having the right size would be pretty good. But, again, WRONG.They were either the slightest bit too big or too small! Pissed off, I called it a night. :angry2:

Argh, too small!

Giving it another go today. Today, and I AM going to make it fit.

Alright so I finally got it in! With the right bolts etc. I never thought installing a seat could be soo frustrating! On the other hand, I never knew bride rails sit soo low! This is going to take some getting used to..

Acouple pics from today; a comparison, recaro vs the stock EM1 seat and a teaser pic. Hopefully if the weather holds up tomorrow I'll get acouple more!
