What got you guys into cars???

purely from the fast and the furious and my friends. at age 12 i started hangin out with these guys who where all in about cars. so as time passed i became a car fanatic myself. my first love was a Mitsubishi eclipse but in my country there was only about 4 of these . so then my love turned on a vauxhall nova which after about a year i realized that this was no sports car. then my love turned on Honda.

i dont remember if i mentioned to this again but the thing that got me into cars
was a 91 crx vtec the guy was ripping it off and i was amazed from the sound of the vtec so much !! :drool:

My interest in cars started when I passed my test - the freedom of just been able to hop in and go hit a certain nerve for me!
My true love for Jap cars didnt really come until I went on holiday with friends to Salou in spain! I was walking to the beach and a black ek9 with some sort of exhaust went up this bloody long hill and the noise of VTEC in the distance for at least the next 45 seconds remains in my head I couldnt help but think what is that guy feeling right now?

Anyhoo forgot to mention my first car was also Jap - Nissan and has been through so much **** and still works perfect everytime!

My first car;

Since I was small I loved cars but EK9.org made me into modding cars :nice:

I think I spend most my life outdoors being in the military, sorry but where I come from guys like females and intercorse with them?

I guess it's different where you live...

Then why get a job involving copious amounts of men? :naughty:

brothers were always into cars and i just followed really - loved honda's forever cause you cant get any better for the money !!

TOP THREAD!:nice::clap:

My Granddad was a mechanic back in his day, so he used to use my parents garage (which i now use) to work on his car’s! So soon as I could walk I was out there with him wanting him to show me what he was doing! He used to wear a full overalls & a flat cap, so when I was about 3-4 years old, he got me a set of overalls made for me & a flat cap! (I just wanted to be my granddad:))) The first car I remember working on was an old Morris Traveller (with a wooden frame work rear) which I helped him to restore to “NEW” condition!
I have some pic’s of me back then up on my garage wall, when im next there ill take a pic & post them up! Lol

Then when I was 9 years old my older brother bought me an old B reg mk1 Astra 1.3 (that his mate was going to scrap) for me to mess with in the garage! Well I got back up to an reasonable condition with my granddad, (MOT’ed) then I think it got lent to ever one of my brothers mate’s at some point when threes was broke or crashed!:lol: & I made a bit of money each time! The money I made from “renting” the Astra out, I started buying & selling car’s!

This is when I really got into working with cars!

At the age of 14 I started night school one night a week doing a NVQ level 2 under pinion knowledge! :dance:

At the age of 17 when I past my Driving test I had successfully bought & sold 33 car’s & started driving in my P reg 1.6 16V Corsa (4years old then) which I had bought with my own money I had made before I even started my working life!:nice:

I could go on all day about this but this gives you a good idea where it all started!:p

my earliest memory is playing need for speed underground 2

that game rocks my little frilly socks

Older brothers got me into cars with their projects. Since then have been dying to start my own. Heres my brothers supercahrged mb6...
Have started my own now, have an ek3 with type r look. Hope to convert this to b series when i'm old enough to insure with it!

Formula 1 in 1986 when i was the tender age of 9 was what started it all for me....

Specifically Brands Hatch for the British GP when my Dad took me to the race:dance:

Watching formula 1 cars when they were arguably at their most powerful (1500cc turbo's with 1000BHP+ (qualifying) ) and spectacular with flaming exhausts & titanium skid blocks was something special for a young lad...

Ever since then i was hooked on cars.

Mainly video games did it for me. Its mostly all i ever played. The game that i think started it all was cruisin' usa for n64, then all the need for speed games. Man, that was way back now that i think about it.

need for speed underground 1 & 2 and i loved the ricer thing, but i grew up and i just love subtle modded cars

for me it was it my dad and a mixture of pop culture, games and films (yes fast and furious)

but yeh i helped my dad restore a Triumph Dolamite Sprint to an amazing condition and i was only a young teen back then

this isnt the actuial car my dad owned but it pretty much eactly the same, but he did a much better job on the paint!

I actually came in pretty late in cars. Around the age of 16. All my mates were interested in bodykits and how many tv's they could fit in the car, but I was a bit opposite. I was more interested in racing and after seeing a few videos of honda racing cars...I became obsessed with them

The earliest memory I have of being interested in cars was playing with my first Lego Technik set of an off road buggy, with the full V8 engine, working diffs, steering, suspension and the such like. This gave me an interest in how cars worked and it's developed ever since then. Must have been about 5 at the time, able to explain the working of a four stroke engine by age 6/7ish.

First interest in modified cars was seeing a dark green Euro style VW Polo on the motorway somewhere about 12 years ago, thought it looked so much better than everything else on the road and set out on a mission to find out why. First copy of Max Power read a few weeks later... you know the rest!
