Hi gusy as title states currently looking at seat leon cupra r's 2003-2005

I am hopefully going to purchase another evo after the summer, however will see how wedding saving is going and as i dont want to put the mileage up in the jordan, i used to own a seat leon and was a great car. Has anyone owned one or knows of anyone who does and can give me any info as to experience with them, performance, handling etc

any extra info would be great guys

cheers

Lololol true because this guy is like mad going through cars like no tomorrow but seats are nice cars and why dont you test drive one.

I know they do produce a lot a power standard mate to start with. My dad has got the basic leon as he does a lot on miles and he says the handling is surprisingly good! So I would imagine the Cupra r has even better handling, they are known for decent handling for bigger cars. Very comfy aswell, not to mention they look very cool in my opinion :nice:

good luck Dan!

we had the latest leon cupra r, they look really nice from outside but cheap and nasty from inside, everything looks cheap from inside thats why we got rid of ours

drive wise they are good
power wise they are good

but personaly i didnt like it

Love the look of them, think theres one in last months fast car magazine with green recaro interior looked deadly.

They are brilliant cars. Not as lively as a Type R Honda of any sort but they handle well, go quickly and are nice and comfy and well put together. Certainly more grown up than any Type R but a lot of that is down to the engine. Although good, IMO it's the weakest point of the car, may be powerful and torquey but it's too smooth and lacks any sort of real fizz when you really get going. Also, it's one of the best looking hot hatches of all time IMO, looks so mean and purposeful, especially in black, yellow or grey.

cheers guys for the feedback

As said its a car that i think is nice all round and i know it might not be an insanely quick car or feel like it but still has plenty of pwer and good looks to make up for it. i will decide what to do in the next few weeks as my private reg is now on the jordan as it doesnt seem it will be selling so will just enjoy it

Just enjoy the jordan man. It's low enough milage that you can drive it and it will still be low milage.

I had an Ibiza Cupar R and hated it. Everything that could go wrong did. Honda is the way forward :nice:

id steer well clear of seat.
don't like the look of them either..think they are drab, boring, bulky looking cars.
as said,stick with the jordan
it needs t be driven!

seats look great and have very high power output from standard but like said above very cheap feeling. would stay away from spanish cars. 2 of my mates had ibiza cupra's but everything went wrong with them. other mate has a leon cupra and its a beast and looks ace but just not reliable enough.

x2 buy Cals EP3

I really like the look of the cupra R's.. around the 2004 mark the Cupra R looks great.. evil looking thing..

A guy i work with is going to get one, he wants to tune it properly. Ecu bigger turbo sort of stuff, Personally i can't wait to see it. in black lowered on a nice set of rims i think they look Wicked..

ive had 2 now, wont have another. quite unreliable in all fairness, and expensive to fix. first one i had, clutch master cylinder went, waterpump went. second one, clutch went, abs sensor went, gearbox went. had 2 cupra's and had loads of problems with those too. good car when mapped but make sure they've got loads of history and check the above problems have been done.

ANd this forum and have his mouth washed out with japanese soap. You do this and always end up back in a honda. Just buy a 9 and be done with it Lol :blabla:

If you want a cheap sporty car just get a clio 182 ;)

Don't be rash and actually stop buying cars for your own good!!
You'd end up having a different car every month!

Take a step back and think what your doing ad stick with the car you've got!
Jeezo.

Havnt had a leon cupra r but I had a mk4 Ibiza cupra 1.8 20vt before I got the 9 and it was the worst car I've owned and I'm on my 7th car! Clutch went after 34k miles, had to replace brake light switch behind the pedal because the electrics are awful, went through ignition coils like I did petrol, the laquer on mine(and many other yellow cupras) was peelingvon nearly every panel of the car....Could go on to be fair! I'd stay clear tbh,NEVER again!

Agreed with the Clio 182 comment though! Had a ph2 172 when I was 18 and loved it!
