TypeRiter's EK

Ssr look better on your car
Mf10l mirror look awsome on silver cars too

Love the blue wheels! Look very purposeful, Mag Blue FTW :D

Take it youll be painting the bay also when the engine comes out?

Wowzers... been a while since I updated this..

Here are a few developments:

EM1 Mats:

As the EK4 retains a black interior, the only mats I wanted were the OEM EM1 mats. Luckily, I picked up this set from a breaker for the princely sum on £10.00 - definitely a bargain.

I know JDM mats are nice, as are the EK9 ones.. but in terms of OEM fit and match. The black EM1's are discontinued now, and most definitely the best in terms of matchin the interior.

Project God-Speed Cross-Brace:

With the rear stripped out, an X-brace was highly desirable.

It was a toss-up between the God-Speed variant or the Miracle Cross bar. Both are nice. But the optional bars on the God-Speed swayed my choice; given that the equivalent from Miracle would have costed near £1,000 - as much as I love my JDM parts, £1,000 on optional bars.. is proper cage money. No thanks.

Poly-Bushed RTA's

Whilst the body-work suggests rust isn't an issue.. the under-side is a completely different story.

A friend of mine broke an EM1 coupe, which looked to have reasonably new rear-trailing arms fitted (even had the barcode stickers still present), that had been poly-bushed. For my assistance with the breaking of the car, I secured the RTA's at a bargain price.

Old:

New:

Also new arms gave me the opportunity to fit my Limited edition Function 7 (teflon-coated) LCA's.

Moving swiftly on... My EK failed MOT due to the absence of a Rear Anti-Roll Bar, removed (sawn off LOL) at the time I replaced the rear arms. I did not expect an MOT fail.. but with the fail.. I decided to SORN the car.. as I focused on collecting parts for the "bigger picture".

The car was SORN for 2-months.. however during this time.. I came across a complete bargain...

ASR Rear Sub-Frame Brace and 24mm ARB, with Adjustable Spherical Drop-links:

Whilst I hadn't planned on testing and taxing the car until the "bigger picture" was complete, an opportunity to land an authentic ASR brace with ARB and droplinks.. Brand New.. for a bargain was too good to pass up.

At 24mm, this is hugely uprated interms of the EK4's puny 13mm ARB.. of course this is an upgrade over the 22mm EK9 variant too.. So I pushed the fail back in the face of the tester..

Random Pic and a nod toward the future:

Finally having this back on the road (and back on the Mugen wheels), I managed to enjoy the car for whatever remained of the summer months (days rather)... and quite liked the picture below.

Ironically, this picture is a nod to the future:

EK9 Grille

Face-it, as much as I'd like to avoid making the car look like an EK9, there is no denying that the best looking grille for the EK is the Type-R honeycombed fascia.

Obviosuly... they never released a Clover Green EK9 (God knows why - LOL.. I want answers Sochiro.. ha ha ha.. I jest) so I had to settle for any available colour with a view to having it coded, when the car is re-sprayed..

I bought this brand new:

I can't remember if I have any fitted pics. But it beats the EK4/EJ9 Front Chrome grille.

Spoon Sports Duckbill

I have access to parts from Japan, so I could have sourced practically any rear wing that I wanted.. but the one I actually like the most is the understated Spoon CF Duckbill.. So the opportunity to acquire one had to be seized.

Probably the best CF weave I've had the pleasure of feeling, perhaps becuase it is actually CF unlike some of the CF style parts available. It's not glossy to touch.. It feels quite textured beneath the lacquer.

Heart Transplant

I've actually grown to appreciate the performance from my B16A2... it's performed impressively when I've had it out against others. Nice and Healthy..

But arguably the B-series to go for is the Integra B18C.

Having received numerous good reports about this particular unit, I popped across to my friend to purchase this JDM ITR B18C from a 96-Spec DC2. Complete with S80 box and brand new 3rd 4th Synchros.

This restores parity between time and the updates. This is the bigger picture.. I hope to get this in to a tucked bay over the winter months... ahead of track action in the new year.

Kudos to my 1987 Civic GT (AH Chassis) for serving me well during the building process.. for a 25-year old car it continues to amaze me.. carrying engines, wheels, parts from all over the country.. Old Hondas FTW.

Bit annoyed that I placed the engine in it.. as it's a really clean example.. but needs must.
