Timing Belt Snapped!! Help Needed!!

thanks olly,

i've sourced out a b20 engine, got a mate that will pollish it all out for me, still it will need a few mods, like external oil feed etc. Has anyone done a b20 bottom with b16b head?

its done the same as ls/vtec you can look on honda-tech.com and they have a diy on it:nice: i have built several ls/vtec and b20 vtec. should be a lil more fun to drive.:drive:

i know a boy that has a b20 bottom end with a b16a head in his jordan. its mega fast it has a slight gas flowed head as he done it his self. car still needs mapped and on the 1/4 mile he runs a 14.8 so he is about a second faster.

Whats the head looking like? sorry to hear this!

thats fine, forgot to take a photo of that it's gone off to get skimmed and pressure tested for the valves.

I've had to find the cheapest method of repair now since my STUPID CUZ.... let his younger bro drive his 318ti and he's wrote it off so i've had to loan him money till he gets back on his feet. He's promised to fund me back tho, so just have to get my 9 back on the road.

I've spoke to a few ppl now and say that piece thats missing shouldn't cause any problems... is this true?

itll still wor with that piece missing, even with just two bolts in but its not ideal, Iv seen stuff like that happen with alu block when people have been lazy and use impact guns to tighten them! which is a big no-no. Should still work ok. If you know any good alu welders theyll patch that piece back into place for no more than £20 with the block in-situ but theyd have to come out to you.

damm sorry to hear abt the snap!

how many miles/Kms did u hve on that belt?

hope u hve it back running asap!! Btw: B20 frankenstein convertion IS fast... read upon some, owners being delighted with it! :nice:

I had a mechanic see me today to get that lil chuck repaired, and with what cash i have left i'm gone for this option...

Exedy Clutch
Toda flywheel
Spoon ecu

and the norm,

Honda head gasket
Honda timing belt
Honda Spring & tensioner

Does anyone know the head bolts tightening stages?

Car has done around 65k miles, only reason for belt snapping what that chuck from my bottom block must have got trapped on the belt and caught on the one of the cams.
