Right, another update.....
So after belting around anglesey i decided i'm really not liking the idea of wasting my R888's on daily driving, so i starting hunting for some daily use or track specific wheels. Sadly with the S2000 having a 55 offset up front and 65 offset rear its bit of a **** to find cheap rims in the correct fitment.
I did have the black wheels seen up further up this page in mind but after trying them the 45 offset was to extreme for me on a 9J rim.
I dont want to compromise this cars performance on road by slamming it with a huge camber or roll arches to make wheels fit.
I also must say i prefer standard car manufactures rims over aftermarket rims, as they tend to be of a much higher quality and better value for money.
So i found a set of 2007 subaru impreza STI rims with 1000 miles on them from new in immaculate condition with mint bridgestone potenza RE070r tyres on them for a very sensible price. 2005 onwards STI's have a PCD of 5x114 and a high offset of 53 and are made by enkei so the only issue is the hub bore size with is 56.1. So i had the rims bored out to match the s2000's bigger hub sizes (64.1 rear, 70.7 front) These rims are non staggered and are both 8J wide front and rear, i had planned to run some 225/45/17 front tyres, and 245/40/17 rears, but the 235/45/17 potenzas fit fine with no scrubbing.
The most obvious thing that will need doing is the subaru badge on the center caps will need rubbing flat and repainting which isnt an issue, i am planning of refurbing them a different colour as they are a pale gold colour, but just to save the R888's and check fitment they've been fitted in there current gold colour for the moment. I really dont dislike them as much as i though i would though!
Some pics and comments welcome, hard top fitted for this crappy weather too!
Excuse the cars filth i didnt have time to wash it!
