Hi guys, i hope some one can help me.
I have a 2000 ek9 with 91,000 km right now.
It has been stroked to 1.8 with integra pistons and Its running with the ctr ecu, ctr header, ctr cams.
havent dynoed the car yet but it has a lot more of torque in the low rpm.
Now im looking to the posibility to changing the ecu for finding the perfect setup for the engine, but i dont want to get a programable ecu.
So what of these would you beleive it could suit the best?
p73-023 JDM ITR ecu
P73-003 SPOON ECU

Ive tried both p73-023 itr ecu and a Spoon P73-003 ecu.
With both the car starts perfectly and runs great but ive noticed 2 things:
1.- As soon as i start the car the interior lights and any other light in the car has kind of a tiny (barely noticable) "vibration" or variation in intensity.
2.- the check engine lights up a few seconds after i start driving, and stays on.

Ive havent scanned the car with any of the ecus yet, but can someone have an idea of what could it be?

er.. correct me if i;m wrong but stroking your car and running it with the same ecu is a no no.. your fuel and ignition maping must be adjusted. from what u've said u have just made ur b16b to a b18c. so best get the itr ecu. if i were u i'll get it retuned...

Yeah but wat about the check engine light.......

scanning the ecu takes all of 5 minutes.

Mind reading on the other hand takes eons to achieve.:secret:

Raging angel dont be so sarcastic hahahaha.
Any help with these without going to a shop?
Ive found some threads for this, but i was wondering if the codes thrown would be accurate with the OBD2B with a OBD2A ecu.....

Thanks.

I can safely say running a stroked b16b with the stock ecu is perfectly fine. Yes in an ideal world you would want a mapable ecu to gain optimum settings, but the stock ecu copes very well indeed.

Having had my b16b stroked 2 months ago, it was driven with det-cans on to check for det and all seemed pretty good. I then did 2 full race days with practise sessions with no problems at all before opting for an Autronics ecu.

The car was dyno'd first with the stock ecu and it was suprising how much power it was making on the stock ecu. Even after swappping to the autronics there wasnt a massive amount of difference and the stock ecu was still coming up trumps everywhere below 5k (obviously the mapping was aimed at high revs due to it being a race car, but it was obvious it would take quite a while to match the stock ecu for low down torque and power)

So although i'm no tech head, I can say from my own opinion that there was no ill effects on my own stroked B16b while still running a stock ecu

all IMO of course!

Do you have an AFR readings/logs you might be able to share?

Dont get all technical now :D

I'll speak to Richy and see if he has any of the above or has any further info. I'm not that techincally minded so I'll apologies before hand for not being able to answer every question. I loved building my Civic but I dont trust myself with engione rebuilds/tuning etc so have left that to Performance Autoworks who run my Race car.

I do have a graph which compares the stock ecu against the last but one run with the autronics but dont have a scanner to get it on here :(

Leave it with me and i'll see what I can do :nice:

The b18c engines take a LOT more fuel than the B16b's you will have been running lean at the time you were on the stock ECU.

Did you have a stock engine intake/exhaust system?

In my case im running the stock b16b ecu. but also CTR intake manifold, header and throttle body....
And I was wondering the same thing. Thats why im in the search for the solution.

Hey guys.
I scanned the car.
It gave me error code 23 with the P073 ecu. (knock sensor)
Why does this light up only with the P73 ecus and not with the stock pct-j11? if both have Knock sensor?

When you say it has been stroked, you mean pistons, rods and crank dont you ?

From what i gather about knock it is to do with the ignition timings. Your knock sensor is pluged in isnt it ?
