Rybeans street/track Ek4

Love ur engine bay especially ur rocker cover best of luck with the turbo build man u usin standard engine bar head studs?

At this point that is my plan yeah.

Forged pistons while your at it lol

I've been looking mate. The video of how to turbo your honda over the weekend on youtube has me thinking. I'll have to really think on it, funds allowing I may just do it.

Few things to work out still.

Getting closer, here are some pics for you all.

this is pure a sexy shot of the set up!!!!

Long awaited update, been busy and havn't had much time on the Ek. But hey ho. I got up to this today. Took your guys advice, engine out and rods and pistons on the horizon. First time taking a B-Series out so just kinda winged it and got on with it.

Would of loved to write a step by step but I had the lift for a day so just cracked on and did it.

Minty fresh. Serviced head, cleaned, valves reseated, carbon removed, skunk2 valve stem seals etc. Can see the intake manifold in the back, couldn't get a photo and didn't want to remove the throttle body as I had to go out, its been gently port matched and tapered over a few cm's to remove the harsh drop for air turbulence/flow

Engines at the shop now ready for me to get to work on with tools thanks to a local machine shop, good to have connections through friends, free tool use! :D

I was a slight bit apprehensive when it was coiled over and checked it. There was no tension on the loop around, was just done to shorten the wire to clear the boot of the car, all the tension was on the bottom and side. No damage was done, not even a scratch deck is fine.

Ordering my pistons and rod combo now, just waiting on an email. Stuck between the Manley H beam and the Eagle, the Manley seems to have a much better finish, both made in China though. Then there are the Brian Cower H beams. Sigh...

I've only heard good things about the eagle brand.

Just had a good read before sleep.
Love sheepey parts , the parts fabricated are mental.
Good shout on having the engine refreshed before mapping.

Im going to go Manley. The finish just seems better, very similar rods

What pistons you going for? I'm likely to be going with the eagle rods myself.
Tried, tested, cheap lol

Going with Wiseco Pistons. 81mm, 8:9:1. OEM Bearings and Manley H Beams. The Manley and Eagle rods are very simillair, pratically the same rod just Manley seems to give a better finisher and looks beefier in places. The Manley are actually a little cheaper :p

Just checked, so they are! I must have been thinking of the "turbo" version they sell.

Good choice on the Manley rods over Eagle's. Any engine I've built with Eagle rods in the past required some honing to the small end of rod as the bush to wrist pin clearance was far too tight, most sets of Manley rods I've used were fine in this regard and the general finish is just better in comparison.

Nice info!

So I'll be going with Manley rods now lol
Any other info you might have that could help us? Which pistons have issues etc

CP and Wiseco both make good pistons, I tend to go with Wiseco on most builds.

Was looking at the wiseco so that's good.
Anything we should be particularly carefull of when building these? Or just follow the book and it will be fine?
