Never really signed up to any web sites before but seen as though my beast is nearly done and my mates dont appreciate hondas i thought i'd share my build with you lot
where do i start then....
The car is a v reg green (i know horrible colour, not for long though) VTI and has 91k on the clock
I brought the car as a b16 turbo about 2 years ago, not knowing anything about hondas (especialy boosted ones) i had no idea all the parts used for the turbo build were no good, the turbo was a cheap and nasty £150 ebay job, so was the intercooler, the manifold ect ect, as all these things kept failing i made the decision to take it off the road and do it properly!
£15,000 later i am nearly done!
I did my research and decided i wanted a b18 to turbo so i started looking, eventualy found one that i was happy with (proven low mileage) not that this mattered in the long run as the internals have all been changed now, looking back i could off saved alot of money buying a none running engine!
I sent the engine off to a japanese specialist to build, since he has had it i have changed my mind soooo many times about what i want out of it, originaly i wanted a reliable street car that i could drive every day and not have any bother, NOW its an all out monster that i imagine will be barely able to drive on the road.
The current engine spec is as follows:
. B18c4 with b18c5 integra head
. Over bored 0.25mm
. Low compression CP pistons 8:5:1
. Eagle steel rods
. Darton steel liners
. My engine builder got in touch with brian crower, he gave him the specs of the cams he wanted for me (extremely wild) and brian crower made them for me from a blank shaft.
. Brian crower titanium valve springs and retainers
. Brian crower valves (coated in some fancy stuff but cant remember the name lol)
. ARP rod bolts ect ect
. genuine oem shells
. Edelbrock victor x inlet manifold (port matched with throttle body)
. Omni power 70mm throttle body
. (the best bit imo) HUGE genuine externaly wastegated garrett GT35r capable of over 600whp
. Spooling performance top mount manifold (work of art)
. Tial 38mm external wastegate
. HKS 50mm BOV
. The new bosch ID 1000cc injectors
. vision motorworks adjustable cam gears
. vision motorworks dizzy cap with extra tower
. vision motorworks performance rotor
. Vision motorworks 10.2mm leads
. MSD coil for external coil conversion (with a nice shiny chrome bracket lol)
. Hondata s300 with the pwm components to run boost by gear
. adjustable fuel reg with guage
. HUGE 700bhp intercooler (ill get it to fit somehow... somehow lol)
. 3" mandrel bent alluminium boost pipes
. wideband lambda sensor
. custom made ally rad
. I have a HKS back box just need the rest made up when its done which will either be 3" or 3.5" straight through de-cat
. Im in the process of making 2 extra breathers in the roker cover and a custom catch can
. B18c4 1.8 vti gearbox with oem lsd (need to do synros in 2nd and 3rd)
. stage 4 exedy clutch kit with 6 puk clutch
There is probably more but i cant think at the moment.
To be honest the body of the car is a complete mess, the only good thing its got going for it is that it is a facelift, and the gold rota lightweight's going for full respray in champ white in a few weeks.
cheers for reading and ill make sure i keep this thread updated, im hoping to make about 500whp, trouble is i havnt found anyone to map it yet, again if anyone knows any where good then let me know, im in the west midlands but dont mind traveling for an experianced tuner, ive heard GOTBOOST tuning in wales is good, any one had any experiance with him?
