Right, Ive picked up my EK9 today after haveing the 98 spec B18C-R engine put in.
Mods are:
Apexi exhaust system
Import sprung custom header
Decat
Apexi intake
3.8KG flywheel
B16B gearbox with OEM 4.4 final drive
All the mods i had on the B16B transfered over to the B18.
Impressions are, i am shocked just how much more powerful the car feels to drive. It feels completely different, torque from the minute go, and i mean it pulls fairly hard in your seat from 2000RPM.
The pull is much smoother throughout the whole rev range and feels much more powerful. You can really notice the power from 3rd gear, just wants to rip the road. It actually sounds different too.
I havent compared to another car yet so actual speed i cant comment, but i can bet my bottom dollar from 3rd gear its much faster, not a bit, but ALOT.
I still love the revvy feel to the B16B though as this doesnt feel like your revving as hard. The power is more linear and continous throughout.
If its power your after the B18CR is a great option, really changes the experience. If its that light, revvy bike engine feel your after then the B16B is the one.
Feel very very different. Both feel great in their own way.
