found alot of water in my wheel well today guys.and also noticed some water building up in the drivers side rear light... would i be right in assuming its probably the seals on the cluster then in turn leaking into the boot??

a common problem??
best way to solve it ??

i had the same problem, my car was rear ended in the past though :(

i have the same problem and my car was never crashed in the back. My problem only started when i took out all the plastics though. so i don't know, i've been told a good few leak in the boot though

same problem wit mine....i think water splashes up thro the lil hole for the plastic screw that holds the panels to the boot floor if u look down the hole u can see out a hole in part of the chassis leg that runs the length of the car...an lights tend to as well

i looked around for info on this problem a while back, no 1 cause is the gaskets behind the lights, just get new ones or some people stick silicone on

double check rubber seal around rear tailgate as well

are the gaskets easy to get hold of from honda etc? if their not much i will replace them just incase.and check the headlight seals themselves .

Best way is just to remove the light and put silicon. Thats all you can do. Don't try to replace the gaskets as it's too hard and a very touchy job.

so just apply a rim of silicone to the rubbers on the lights you think??

gaskets are very easy, there just foam pads that sit in between body and light, you easily get them from honda

Then you can end up sticking the lights to the car? Would be a pain to remove if need be?

It is a really easy fix.

just take the Rear lights out, from inside the cover, there is 4 8mm nuts holding it.

then just Bathroom sealant the foam gasket, on the outline where it tocuhes the body. all round then its fixed.

Hi Guys. I have problem with water in my boot and its also seeping forward to under the rear seat! I have sealed the lights and the manner i have done so there is no way water can come in through behind the lights, i have also sealed the vents under the rear lights but still in heavy rain (which there seems to be alot of recently) i still get the same problem. When i put my hand in behind the rear lights the inside of the rear wings are wet high up aswell as low down, lots of condensation, The car has never been involved in an accident and was only imported july 2010.

has the car ever been resprayed mate? where the boot seals and lights have come out?

if so when the boot seal comes out or any seal for that matter for the first time it is always very hard to get a perfect seal again and therefore water can seep in!

if the light hasnt been tightened in properly then water can also get in

the reason you will be getting it under your seat is it willprobably be coming from boot seal under the carpets and rear seats!

get it addresed asap as the dampness can get quite bad!

make your all your seals are tight and there is no gaps!

Car has never been resprayed mate. It definately is not coming from behind lights as ive used silicone sealant and tightened the nuts properly (done this twice now) Ive checked unger back seat and i can visibly see the water trickling down from rear boot area. Ive also checked boot for holes and its holding alot of water so cant be the spare wheel well either. Also checked the vents under rear lights and sealed them good. Its definately coming from the rear behind the rear arch plastic area on both right and left hand side then running forward under rear seat.

Yea this apparently is a common problem. I think mine is the gasket by the lights but when i change them...i will report...lol

U might want to check the passenger footwell aswell, the carpet could be a bit wet like mine.
