Yeah I'll crack on with page by page if it means others can enjoy it. I'm living it so my reference isn't too important.
I've got abit of resentment towards the b18c4.
I just don't rate it as an engine against the b16b/b18c6. I believe the engineering went into those engines more than the c4(I know changing the parts makes it pointless) also keeping the original engine is sentimental value for me and my friend(previous owner) we had great fun when it was his and engine was always great. So feel like I owe it to the engine and my friend to build it and come back stronger!
IMO putting an old c4 in is lowering the cars value aswell, I know I'm put off by b18c4 ek9s(turbo or not) I'm hoping that if I pay enough attention when building and get all the steps spot on I'll be rewarded with an engine that can take abuse and last a decent while(I'm not expecting zero issues forever, but I'd like to beat on it and know it's not going to fail in a years time.
This car really isn't a street car or trailer queen, it gets abuse and will see 9000rpm from 2nd gear upwards and the limiter in 5th on track regularly, i don't know of too many turbo bseries that genuinely see that punishment on stock engines. I don't think an old c4 can handle that sort of treatment tbh.
Little update
Stripped the exhaust off the manifold and down-pipe. Oil poured out of it lol so got the jetwash out and cleaned it best I could, two new gaskets and it looks almost new again!
Couldn't clean the whole exhaust because it's hard to get too, so I'm expecting some smoke when I start the new engine for the first time!
