Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

If I was to go with say forged b16a rods and pistons. Should see like 9.8-1 compression shouldn't it? Or is the crank different?

Hang on the deck height is different is it not? Between 16b and 16a. So that would throw all that out the window?

Yeah I just clocked that, so it's either custom rods and pistons or a new block with off the shelf pistons and rods.

Will see what the costs are, by the time I've found a new block that's decent it's already costing more anyway.

The parts that are in it. I can't use b16a parts inside because it's taller and I can't use b18c forged parts inside because of the crankshaft.
Likelyhood of finding a decent b18 crankshaft to put in?

Track videos on page 1, post 5
Only did 2 dry laps so I uploaded both of them.

Page 1 is soooo confusing,
All the pictures are jumbled up!

Just follow it down? It's all in order of date. The lap videos are just above the trailer pics.
I do it like that because when I read others threads I hate searching pages and pages of "nice car bro" and other chat to get to the next bit.
If it confuses people I'll start doing it the old fashioned way no a problem, I thought this way was easier for readers lol

Na I get why you do it it's just some pictures don't match the writing and the picture that should be there is in a random place,

Unless its just my phone being rubbish loading things up wrong

Just checked over It and it's all in correct order. Not sure what's going on there lol

Update,
Waiting on cash mainly, clearing out the garage to make space for engine stand and hoist.
Mock order for parts I need/want has come in at around £1300 so far!
Not sent injectors off yet but it will be done!

Why not keep your progression page by page instead of keep having to flick to page 1 lol

I can do that if people prefer? Seems afew of you do.

I would vote page by page too, but its your thread man! If you want it all on page 1 for future reference then batter in.

Are you against just buying another stock block (b18c4) and just abusing it till it dies and repeat? No guarantee that a costly forged engine wont go boom too sadly.

Yeah I'll crack on with page by page if it means others can enjoy it. I'm living it so my reference isn't too important.

I've got abit of resentment towards the b18c4.
I just don't rate it as an engine against the b16b/b18c6. I believe the engineering went into those engines more than the c4(I know changing the parts makes it pointless) also keeping the original engine is sentimental value for me and my friend(previous owner) we had great fun when it was his and engine was always great. So feel like I owe it to the engine and my friend to build it and come back stronger!
IMO putting an old c4 in is lowering the cars value aswell, I know I'm put off by b18c4 ek9s(turbo or not) I'm hoping that if I pay enough attention when building and get all the steps spot on I'll be rewarded with an engine that can take abuse and last a decent while(I'm not expecting zero issues forever, but I'd like to beat on it and know it's not going to fail in a years time.
This car really isn't a street car or trailer queen, it gets abuse and will see 9000rpm from 2nd gear upwards and the limiter in 5th on track regularly, i don't know of too many turbo bseries that genuinely see that punishment on stock engines. I don't think an old c4 can handle that sort of treatment tbh.

Little update
Stripped the exhaust off the manifold and down-pipe. Oil poured out of it lol so got the jetwash out and cleaned it best I could, two new gaskets and it looks almost new again!
Couldn't clean the whole exhaust because it's hard to get too, so I'm expecting some smoke when I start the new engine for the first time!

Cleaned up the sump, it has aluminium particulate all over it. Very tiny but noticeable because it changed the colour of the oil.
Tried to clean the oil cooler out but I just don't trust it with the new engine.
So if someone is willing to take that risk I've got an oil cooler cheap.

Yeah I hear you, I agree that there is a bit of a 'stigma' towards the C4, I wouldnt really want a B18C4 ek9 either haha; I only picked that one due to cost and availability etcetc.

Your reasons for forging are solid man, hopefully you can get it sorted and smashing the limiter again soon :nice:
