I think a thread where users can share their Hondata s300 etc maps would be an excellent idea.

Anyone else think it would be good?

I agree. There's no standard maps on it for an itr or ctr so it could be a great help to people or if people have the same mods it would give them a close map.

On the software there is a map for a 2001 itr and it is a b18c.

There are calibrations on the hondata websites forum but they are mostly all dirty american petrol.

I want a "will tune" map for a b18c with ihe:clap:

IMO its not a good idea. Even if you have the exact same spec on two cars running the same engine you cannot assume the custom map done for car 1 will be right for car 2 there is to many variables involved and you would be running the risk of damaging your engine from using a map not done specifically for your car. Do yourself a favour and get it tuned for your setup by a competent tuner.

x2 if your spending the money on your car in the form of performance parts and a new ECU the only way to get the best results is to get it mapped properly. You can even tailor the map slightly to how you want power delivery etc every car is different as is every driver's needs.

Agree with the above two completely. Every map is unique to a modified car for a number of reasons. Both mechanical and personal.

I totaly agree with the 3 comments above!:nice:

When i sold my S300 from my EK9 i suplyed it with the MAP from my car, but told the lad it was only safe to drive it to a competent tuner for it to be check & tweeked for his setup!

Well he didnt & 2 months down the line he endend up with a blown engine!:angry2:

The whole point in having a programable ECU is to have it mapped for your setup & how you want it!

If your going to upload someone else's map you might as well have bought a spoon ECU or the like's:secret:

Rock solid advice from the 4x people above. :nice:

Quote of the century!!:

Thread revival.
Hope someone can help.
I am currently building a high compression b18c. I have bought a second hand hondata s300 with b16b map on it. I will be taking the car to get mapped after build is complete but the problem I have is, I live in South Wales area and there is nowhere with reputable Honda experience.
I was after some advice whether or not it would be ok to drive the car 100 odd miles to a tuner on a stock itr map that Hondata provides withe the SManager software. If not, what sort of calibrations would you suggest?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Gareth

I wouldn't drive it, after you have spent good money on the engine, its too easy to do some lasting damage. Speak to your tuner see what he recommends. Its not too expensive to get the car delivered there is a guy Kris! on here who uses / recommends a car transport company in your neck of the woods, if I find it will post up.

Ideally with any new build you should map it from the first start especially when large injectors are fitted which will need to be scaled otherwise it may over fuel badly and you could end up washing the bores which will not help the initial bedding in of your rings.

Awsome man. Cheers. As thought it wouldn't be safe to run without mapping. I will look into getting the car delivered. Cheers:nice:

Ah right. Cool.
Well basically, I have bought a ready built engine but it has a piston slap issue (spec -
JDM B18C BLOCK BORED TO 81.5mm (0.5mm overbore)
MICROPOLISHED AND BALANCED CRANKSHAFT
C.P 12-5-1 HIGH COMP PISTONS
EAGLE H-BEAM RODS
OEM HONDA HEADGASKET
ARP HEAD STUDS
ARP CON ROD BOLTS

CYLINDER HEAD:
B18C TYPE R CYLINDER HEAD
FULLY STRIPPED CLEANED, PRESSURE TESTED
PORT AND POLISH JOB
TYPE R VALVES
TYPE R SPRINGS/RETAINERS
BLOX TUNER STAGE 3 CAMSHAFTS
SKUNK 2 PRO ADJUSTABLE CAM GEARS
SKUNK 2 PRO INTAKE MANIFOLD (PORTED TO MATCH T/B)
BLOX 76mm THROTTLE BODY
MAGNECORE KV COMPETITION HT LEADS
POLISHED ROCKER COVER WITH CAM PULLEY CUT OUT (LOOK AMAZING)
COMP-TECH U.S.A. 4-2-1 HEADER
ITR INJECTORS.

I am getting my b16b block that I have re-bored to 81.5mm. I am using standard b18c injectors so hopefully wont be a problem:nerv:. I have a hondata s300 obd2b presocketed on the way and skunk2 springs and retainers.
I will be using standard facelift ek9 harness with obd2a injectors, just wandering if you know they'll work?
Sorry bout noob questions. My first b series build.
Thanks,
Gar

Gar,

You will need bigger injectors. I'm pretty sure that Blox tuner stage 3's are a close copy of Skunk tuner stage 3's in which case they are better suited to 2.0ltr+ capacity engines so can't see them working too well on your 1.8ltr.

76mm throttle body? I wouldn't put that on a 2.4 not to mind a 1.8! You need to re-evaluate your build because your selection of parts are far from ideal sorry if that sounds blunt but you need to select parts which will work in harmony with each other.

I know what you mean. It was a bargain so if any bits will not work, please feel free to come up with some suggestions. Your advice would be well appreciated. It was mapped on a ectune p28 ecu with previous owner and made 231bhp with piston slap issue

What injectors would you suggest?
Cheers

230 on one dyno could be 200 on another so it means very little. I'd recommend some RDX injectors have used them on a few engnes and they work great.
Xenocron Tuning: RDX 410cc Injector Set of 4
You'll need adapter pack also for your car

Thanks man. I will certainly look into it. Do u think that 76mm t/b is too big then? Didnt think the tuner 3's were meant to be that bad compared to pro stage 3?

Yes way too big, you don't need any bigger than 68mm. I'll have to look up the specs of those cams but for some reason I think there a close copy of Skunk2 tuner stage 3's.

Think they're INTAKE: 272° / 12.8mm
EXHAUST: 280° / 11.9mm
Not sure on skunk 2 ones. Surely with 12.5 C.R they should be ok, with like you said bigger injectors?

Gareth

I/R-motion use a guy called Gary (GPRS) 07878253311 for all our collections/deliveries and he is a top bloke and is fully insured. Tell him I sent you and he will look after you.

Where in South Wales are you? We are in Usk just outside Monmouth but sadly we dont do mapping.

Kris!
