Since im having problems getting the spoon engine mounts in a short period of time I've been looking around and came across these -

eBay Motors: HASPORT ENGINE MOUNT KIT 96-00 CIVIC SI B16A D16 EKSTK (item 110294088963 end time Oct-08-08 12:49:46 PDT)

"This mount kit is available with different polyurethane inserts.
The most common is the street (62A) followed by the race (70A) for track cars & off road racing, and extreme race (88A)"

I suspect the Race (70A) mounts would be the one's most suited to me. Has anybody got any experience with them?

:thanks:

Why do you think race 70a is what you need? do you race? do you track? if not I'm sure street 60a will be suitable, I was looking into these. Roughly £240 delivered by Karcepts Engineered Solutions - Home
A member off the ITR dc2 forum have bought mounts from the above, so its a thumbs up :)

Well its just the oem one are very soft and not able for the standing starts! I was goin to get the race version to be safe? Will the street be strong enough?

I have the 62A's in my ITR. After researching on the net, a lot of people complained about how much vibration these ones made. It really did not bother me, so I ended up getting the 62A's. After installing them I only noticed a little more vibration at idle and was not as bad as people described. I sort of wish I went the 70A's now.....

But since then I invested in some Avid torque mounts that mount at the front of the engine & under the chassis. When you install your Hasports your oem rubber torque mounts aren't doing anything cause they are so soft, so a lot of people just remove them and depend on just the 3 point engine mounts. I tend to disagree with this because its really your 2 torque mounts and rear engine mounts that resists engine torque rotation. The 2 side engine mounts are really just a pivot point and static load bearer.

Also note that the Avid mounts increased vibration even more. But hell, I love it. Depends what your after in the end. Gear selection also improves with harder mounts.

Hope that helps.

Meh....people who complain about vibration ought to get an Accord.

:p

62A is fine, i agree with Bon, no need to go stiffer if its your everyday car. You can try the 70's but it can start to rattle your dash or glove box which is not good if you plan to take ladies out ;) i think i have 80 in mine but i don't drive it everyday so its fine for me...

So there is only 3 mounts in the kit guys? I really wanted to replace the whole 5. The torque mounts are the ones underneath the chassis leg on either side right?

Yeh, thats right. 3 engine mounts and 2 torque mounts. Buy them seperately.

i personally don't use torque mounts, only the main 3....

these kinda mounts are a big compromise, very stiff and cause lot of vibration at idle )even the 60 rating), there great for some and horrible for others, all about what you want and at what cost/negatives youll put up with

if you have girlfriend that complains about your 9 now or girls you take out do then these kinda mounts are not for you, if you have weekend/car for raw fun then go for it

Thanks for all the replies! Well the girlfriend loves the EK9 so that wouldn't be a problem. I dont want to be replacing the mounts like I am the OEM ones but I dont want horrible vibration that makes the car sound like a piece of crap if there was somebody standing beside it/looking at it etc...Would I be better with the Spoon mounts?

Any pix of yours installed Jugbugz?

why can't you get the spoon mounts? I got a set from bazza at vtec direct. not fitted yet tho.

I need them in approx 2 weeks max and nobody can have them by then:( Unless you want to sell me yours:p

Tried phoning Newera parts, might be able to source in time? What happens in two weeks?

if urgent then just have them sent express from u.s or have em fedex'd over

spoon or mugen are your best bet then for minimum vibration, they will add vibration but the least amount out of all the aftermarket mounts mentioned
