Hi All,

I'm planning on replacing the stock EK9 steering wheel with this Mugen wheel: Mugen Racing III Steering Wheel and would appreciate some advice to make sure I get everything I need and do it right!

Having searched on here it looks like this boss is a good one to go for: JDM Performance - Splash Normal Boss - Steering Wheel Boss Kit - am I right in thinking it will deal with the SRS light properly without having to remove the bulb?

Assuming I buy these parts and come to swap the wheels over, how do I remove the SRS reel once I've got the old wheel off? I'm guessing the new boss can be attached once the reel is removed?

Sorry for all the questions but as you can tell I've not done this before!

Cheers,
Alex

I would have said if the SRS thing was included it would have been mentioned. I have one of these gismos for sale if you need one.

Perhaps not Dunx, but from this post by "option" (it was another of his posts suggesting this particular boss kit) it sounds like it has the required parts included: http://www.ek9.org/forum/other-technical/11908-aftermarket-steering-wheel-p-s-airbag.html#post124884 - if it doesn't I'll let you know! :)

Cheers,
Alex

Just seen your thread! I got one to fit my Nardi..

You do not remove the SRS/clock spring as this is kept for your horn..

It comes with a fused loop for the SRS just to replicate the resistance in the SRS circuit making the ecu think its there hence no SRS dash lights and a horn connector.

Very simple to fit and is a quality bit of kit:nice:

Cool, thanks :)

Yeah, from doing more research I'd found out that the reel stays on (that's why there are airbag and non-airbag versions of the boss!)

Cheers,
Alex
