EK9 Civic Type R - Race Base


oh..when i saw these pics..it seem as same interior of mine..but mine is an EK2..wv d13 power palnt..then i swap it wv B18c GSR...the cushions, they all same...the rear seat back iv swap wv EK4 2 doors seat...n also change the EK9's door panel...still do some mods here...wish me luck,guys...
 
I wonder why these have to cost more. They have nothing more over a regular EK9 and they miss a lot compared to it.
 
the race base ek9 cost less than the ek4 in japan.plp who import them they paid less than an ek4.
 
I paid pretty much the going rate of a normal EK9 for mine, but mine came with a few tasteful mods already done to it.
 
Well if you guys paid more for this over a standard EK9 then you got ripped!

i have the EK9 dealer broucher and the race base is the cheapest option since everything is replaced with cheaper counterparts. It also shows the more parts you remove the cheaper it gets.

Its the same thing with all type Rs in Japan as well as the FD2R. Honda did this to encourage people to use their cars for racing.

Like I said, I paid pretty much the going rate for a standard ek9 at the time.

Mine came with stuff that costs thousands more to buy already on it, so I was happy.

LSD alone cost £1k.
 
Just spotted this on the bay...if I had the cash I'd probably look into it ha ha (btw it ain't mine lol) Just thought it may interest someone

10kg is the only difference.

I always thought the SiR was more powerful than the uk vti.

Which model have that giant floor chassis reinforcement brace? Here´s the pic

I´m from Brazil and i Have a JDM EK4 and i´ve never saw this brace before. Not even on any Ek9.

I was wondering how to fit the rear seats and the side lining with this brace installed
 
Love how some of these came with no side mouldings aswell. I would love a racebase. Fixed bucket, nice steering wheel, coilovers, wheels. Done! And looking at the price list, an SiR was about a grand more expensive than an Racebase in today's money.
