EK4 Track Car

So this evening i finally finished getting rid of the antiu gravel from one side of the underneeth of the car just need to do the rust then the rear wheel arche and the spare wheel tray and then i'l be ready to do the other side :nice:







 
Damn thats hard work and dedication right there, looking good so far, keep it going!

i hope you can get it all back together and hopefully find all the parts you want to put back on the shell.For me its a bit extreme but each there own

it's just like a big jigsaw mate you cant get it wrong all the parts only go in one place apart from clips etc but i can work them out easy. I do spraying and body repair for a living so i can get my way around things like that:D

I noticed in your pictures at the start you've got my rosemary beads i got from Cuba years ago ahah!

I've been looking for those things all over the place!! I must have left them on you still have them lol?

Fancying mailing them back to me if i transfer money for postage etc through paypal!! Lol

lol they have not moved from the car since i picked it up mate well part from now i think i still got em though yeh.

Things are going brilliant few suprises taking the car apart .... lack of a few parts listed etc i havent checked the ITR cams are actually in there either yet lol.

Also it's wierd it's never been listed as having crash damage but theres defo a rear end shunt on it, lucky it's been verry well repaired to be fair only a few things let you notice it. and the rear arches are worse than i was expecting haha think this is more due to the previous owner before you though you was top notch through the sale not knocking ya just telling you lol

other than that ITS AWSOME ... love this car to bits mate well chuffed with it.

wanted to ask if you'd got any other paper work for it to be honest lol. what have you baught to replace it anyways ?

Oh okay to be honest i never really looked over the car a massive amount everything was done by the previous owner, all i did was stickers and wheel nuts and the bit of vinyl on the steering wheel!! :D,

Ah good glad it's going well i enjoyed it too!

I've got a Punto! Haha, Thinking of picking up an EK9 soon though just as a summer car and garaging it through winter not sure yet.

Noo i havent found any other paper work i forgot to give you mate, Im sure everything i was given was in the book.

thaught they went with the car mate to be honest i'l try and fish them out anyway. it's great to hear off you think you're probs happy she found a good home.

And yeah i did like you're touches even though those wheel nuts came loose on track haha, and lucky you if you get an EK9 mate really wish i could have afforded to buy one but the EK4 will be just as good i hope even if i have to swap out half the stuff lol.

Hope you keep following the progress anyway and keep in touch with it, it's a long way off being finished but slowly coming together.

And thanks for the other comments peeps really apreciate it though this is kinda going to be on hold for a week as my damned angle grinder has given up the ghost today in a big puff of white smoke :clap:
 
As the lads said above; this build shows you have some amazing dedication mate :D

Keep up the amazing work, will most definitely keep an eye on this build looks as if its going to be a topper ;)
 
i'm hopping for a good turn out cant wait to get it done just trying not to cut corners and keep my self back and not cutting the budget too much because i do miss this dearly i hate driving an astra as a daily and seen as the wether is good i miss is even more.

just cant wait to get it back on the road ... once it's seam welded i'l be happy anyway as i can get the bodywork sorted and spray it
 
Should have finished getting all the crap off the bottom tomorrow so will only be left with 2 of the arches todo.

Then i need to find a piece of metal to weld that hole up lol.
After that i'l be prepping the car to be seam welded on the 10th of august ... the roll cage will be put in at a later date due to funding the thing
