Hi guy's...just letting you all know i am currently looking for a decent TRI-Y header for my B20 and have been recommended this:

http://www.rms-usa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BWHD-0100

My mate Daz at DNR have spoke to RMS and can give us a really good price on this header if we get 5 orders. We have two of us...just need another 3. If we get 10 then the price comes down again.

The price's work out to this:

5 ordered: £350
10 ordered: £325

This includes shipping from the US and import tax duty's etc

PM me if interested.

im interested!
how do these compare to other tri-ys out there?

what you planning on going for your b20 ku?
i need one for mine!

The big tube is pointless so far, I am running a small tube version of this to well over 250bhp with a CR of about 12:1 with large cams and good head work.

We tested a big bore middle of last year and i gained minimal at the top but had a HUGE hole in the mid range that couldnt be tuned out.

The big bore is better off for very high comp builds or either a super charger or Nitrous set up.

A smallbore will happily run to over 250bhp so no need to worry.

How do these compare to other TRY Y's?

Well I have an original Hytech and these are basicly identical although more shiny:D The welding is very good, the ports on them are good and the design is identical to my original Hytech.

We are using one of these on our B16b Eg for next year and if were not happy we would not fit it.

The prices Danny has quoted are a guide, I am awaiting confirmation of Shipping and taxes but the above are a good indication and shouldnt change much.

When we have the right amount of interested parties I will look into taking deposits.

Daz you tried any other headers? tried the rmf/ style?
my b20z is still stock with oem ek9 header haha

i could be intrested. for a b18c.

just need to check if its definately not a JDM 98 Spec Mani on my car at the moment.

I have run over the last few years a few different types of headers.

My first build was with the Toda 4-2-1. I then moved on to one of my own 4-2-1 designs with extended primaries and secondaries this worked alot better than the Toda. I then tested a jun 4-1 allthough we had slightly more peak power the midrange was lacking over my own 4-2-1. I then fitted the current Try Y and its been brilliant.

I have acquiered an RMF 4-1 which i will be testing in the new year, great manifold with great ground cleareance but the design i can see is going to be an issue for low down power, not to mention the shape dicatats the use of a slim line fan, as the primaries touch the rad fan cowling, we tried to remove some of the cowling to make it fit but the manifold was still touching the fan blades.

So for a easy direct fit, with great power gains the TRY Y is a great choice.

Thread revival!!!

How is the fitment of the Blackworks header guys, i.e. would it be a straight fit for an ek9 or would you need to make any mods to make it fit? What is ground clearance like, as Ive heard many hytech replicas have poor ground clearance?

Also how would this big tube mani compare to the blackworks one:

~~4-2-1 big tube tri-y header 1.8l/2.0l **race proven design** blow out - Honda-Tech

(The engine in question a high comp stroked b16b)

Thanks

My current ITB build is using the big bore, and for the money I am very happy with it, the welding and port work is good, I also have a Blox max flo here for a customer and its pretty good and only a few more $$ than the BWR, we use alot of BWR items and the quality of the the parts it better than there price would some time suggests.

What is the fitment like on them daz? Any specific mods needed to make them fit correctly? i.e. removing the transmission stiffener?

Quote from other thread
" You have to remove the transmission stiffener to make many hytech replicas fit. Removing something that Honda designed specifically for the ITR/CTR motor due to its high revving nature is counterproductive. If it was not important, I don't think Honda would have gone the extra mile to cast this piece"

Also would you suggest a big tube or small tube header for a high comp stroked b16b ....nothing special just an aim of 200whp max really.

Thanks
