Been trying to find what wheels have the best brake clearances without having to use spacers or have to much of an offset.
Having ET30 or ET20 offset might give you a nice stance but there is good reason to why most fast honda's are designed with ET's around 45-50. Basically when it comes to suspenssion geometry and tyre scrub angles the closer the center of the tyre patch is to the center line of the top and bottom ball joints the better. Extending the ET out further to give wider stance or to clear brakes will more than likely reduce grip capabilitys of the tyre once you enter a corner or compress/rebound the suspenssion in any way and increase the likes of bump steer, bearing and joint damage.
So I am in search of the best 15" wheels for brake clearances that can still have a close to factory ET.
So far the closest I have found is the Team Dynamics Pro race 1 15"x7" ET35 but as these are discontinued and the Pro race 1.2's dont have as much clearence so the options are limited.
Any input or findings of 15" wheels with good clearence would be great. Talking about wheel well clearance and spoke clearance for the likes of spoon calipers, wilwood 4pot 300mm, EP3 300mm, and other big brake setups.
It seems like a subject that is quite limited in factual info. Could be a sticky if enough experienced info is put up to make a list of the best wheels for big brake setups.
