B18 ek4 build

update........

after seeing the size/weight of the rear bumper bar on my ek4 as standard it had to go!

got an ek9 rear bumper bar from "livvy",bar was mint condition but wanted to spray it for some added protection.
bar was white to start so primed it up...

took the rear bumper off and here is the rather large ek4 bumper bar...

you need to remove two bolts in the boot to get the bar off,one bolt was easy to get at but other is under the interior plastic.
just remove speaker cover and 3 screws under that which hold plastic trim on.
plastic in centre of boot opening needs removed also then this give you enough "play" with the plastic.

ratchet on..

new bar on...

This is going from clean to super clean, nice to see it.

I see you got rid of your 'B' to 'C' pillar brace for the X-Brace an reasons benefits in particular? Just boredom!?

i never had a "B" to "C" pillar brace bud.

X-brace is the first internal bracing i have fitted,i believe the benefits are minimal and its more of a "bling" factor.

always wanted this x-brace so im happy :nice:

hi very nice job..
some very tidy work:nice:
cant wait to u get the engine in her..
did the itr throdle body make much differce with shock maniflod?

Oh right, I met you and neiller in Dublin at one of the meets, could have sworn the brace was in yours, oh well must have been neillers, cause I'm sure you're right!

Good luck with the 18...

the throttlebody was matched to a "Blox" manifold (copy of the ITR mani).
as for gains i dont expect any with that mod until the new build is mapped.

im running a S80 box with 4.7 final drive, maybe just put in shorter 4th and 5th and that will do me fine. :)
