B18 ek4 build

Good to hear you sorted out the TB :nice: The sump baffle looks perfect, did you weld this in work?

People talk about painting the baffle but if there is oil in the sump then there should be no need to paint anything!

a friend got it welded for me (only 10 mins from you!),only needs a few "tack" welds so nothing too difficult.

i may just give the bare metal on the sump a quick spray where its was grinded to take the weld, dont want to go overboard with spray as i would hate for it to flake etc :(

as you say if its filled with oil it should be fine.

few more bits for the build, just waiting on my ACL duraglide bearings now then i get get cracking on boring the block...

all parts are oem honda, headgasket, valve stem seals, dipstick etc etc

well whilst waiting on parts arriving for my build i got itchy feet so started to remove the sound deadening from the rear....

damm stuff weighs a ton!!! i used hammer and chizzel but recently found out you just spray with freeze spray (from plumber shops) then hit it with a hammer it comes come away!!!

few marks made whilst removing it but im gonna prep it anyway to be painted.

tomorrow the plastics are coming out so will update :)

also took off the trim to check my sills, seemed pretty clean but still gave them a coat of "dinitrol",coated all the inner panels inc the doors also...

dinitrol is used on aircraft so good enough for me and its a light coating which drys to look like melted caramel ....mmmmmmmmmm

the paint i used as you can see is not the same colour as the car as i didnt want the bother of using the water based paint,so just picked this out.
most of the interior is going back in so the spare wheel area will only be seen :nice:

Looks cracker mate, very clean and I'm really liking the colour of the rear interior that you painted! All works very well and the sills still look new:nice:

yea happy with it bud,few coats of high build primer on first, took bit of time but worth it in the end i think, colour bit mad but was just looking to tidy it up :nice:

been a week since i sprayed the rear inside of the car so spent today building it back up again.
leaving the spare wheel out along with the false floor thingy :)

another small update.

was a nice day and had few hours to burn before i start nightshift so went ahead and fitted my ITR t`body.

t`body and new b18 gasket...

ek4 t`body off...

SL381026.jpg

new gasket on....
SL381028.jpg

ITR t`body on...

SL381029.jpg

the ITR t`body is 62mm compared to the 60mm ek4 where it joins the intake manifold so matched my "BLOX" intake manifold well as it was around 62mm also :nice:

hardest part was getting the intake pipe over the ITR t`body as that end is quite a bit larger than the ek4 item, bit of grease helped thou :secret:

idle seems fine and can deffo hear the mugen intake sucking harder

not expecting gains from this at the moment but when my b18 bottom end is done and its mapped via "crome" again im sure every little helps!

this is coming along nicely. will be sweet when the B18 block is i!
