Yes I think that we both learned the hard way that the generic ECU's are useless! I only ran mine for a couple of weeks and then sold it on because I was going to stroke my engine but later decided not to because my b16b is very healthy. I thought that my car would run well with the spoon ECU due to the fact that it was tuned around an ek9 with spoon bolt-ons and my ek9 had a spoon n1, decat, spoon manifold, large throttle body and oem airbox with drop-in and resonator removed when I used the spoon ecu
As you have said tho and its true that every engine is different, another factor might be that in Japan where the spoon programme was designed they have 100 octane fuel
Im also on the look out for an Apexi stand alone ecu so that I can have my car properly mapped Although with the mods that I have carefully chosen so far my car definitally goes a fair bit better than when it was standard.
Raced a few civics at our Irish drag racing championship here and won my class, one of the other drivers told me that he had raced a few other b16b ek9s and none of them went like mine so I have done something right or its just a healthy engine
