Hey I have a eg6 and it had a vti engine in it the bottom end went when I had it out on the track. I have bought a sir engine and going to take out the vti engine and put the sir in my question is should I do anything to the sir engine before I put it in for example timing belt water pump head...

Ye I'm definitely going to try changing the iavc I have a sir civic in she'd so I'll take it of that ye like o said idels barely over 500 until heats up then it idels were it should around 7 to 8 hundred rpm

OK ill try cleaning it again. Ye is that we're you reset ecu and let it try and learn how to idel again ye? It's a 00 pal

No ill try sensor and earth's so I've only tried cleaning iacv and checked vacum lines so far. Car idles around 5 to 6 hundred when ya start it. Once it heats up to normal running temperature it idels around 750 to 800 mark pal

Really that cheap that's grand so get it in motor factors ye ah ye I always do after changing sensors

O OK so I should change sensor would a second hand one do?

Would the ect switch not be more to tell the car when to put on the fan pal? Was just doing bit of research on it there

I cleaned the idle air control valve there last night hoping it'd fix my problem no luck I checked vacum lines all seem ok does anyone think I might need to replace my iacv I'm not sure what else to do?

There's been a bit of work done to the engine in the past and is yet to be dynod does anyone think this could affect the car

I doubt it's the icv that usually causes cars to hunter idle if not wrong?
