I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find a definite answer to what causes it when I start my ek9 it doesn't high rev to heat up the car it will shut straight of unless I rev it with the throttle and when I take my foot of more likely then not shut of and if it doesn't it idels so low it's on the verge of it until it heats up and then it is fine and will start perfect again once heated any ideas were to start sensors?

I doubt it's the icv that usually causes cars to hunter idle if not wrong?

I'm having a similar problem Iv changed map sensor checked tps cleaned and replaced iacv. Checked vaccum Leaks cleaned fast idle valve. Maybe you might look at some of these to be honest iM stumped about mine

I'm having problems with my car but my symptoms are the opposite to your's. All I can suggest is change thermostat? Good luck let us know how you get on.

There's been a bit of work done to the engine in the past and is yet to be dynod does anyone think this could affect the car

My last ek9 was a bitch to start if I parked it after a short run.
Plugs would get all sooty and soon as I cleaned plugs off would fire up and hold idle straight away.
Ecu been tuned?

Yea except for a slight lumpiness. If I start mine it will idle fine until it gets Luke warm then it will hunt like mad and cut out. But if I don't let it idle for a few minutes after a cold start it will cut out as soon as I go to drive it. It's a right pain

Mine is a bit like this but I have Toda C cams so its not surprising. It does still drive and idle too...just a bit easy to stall.

If you have stock engines its not right. Perhaps engine temp sensor if there is one. Find a resistance value and check?

I had a problem with my car the last time I drove it, it was cutting out like others have described,

After stripping some other bits off to do various other jobs I noticed the screw had fallen out of the valve on the feed end of the fuel rail (see picture below) and was just sitting in the white cap,
I'm not sure if this would of cured my issue as I've not started it since, but I'd say it was likely to be connected to the issue.

Mine doesn't have the screw on the end either. Fell out and finding a replacement is pita.
Seems to run alright

I cleaned the idle air control valve there last night hoping it'd fix my problem no luck I checked vacum lines all seem ok does anyone think I might need to replace my iacv I'm not sure what else to do?

Hay try changing your ECT switch as that sends info to ecu to say whether it's hot or cold.
I changed mine and was few euro.
It's the one on the dizzy side nearest too the front of block.
Let us know how you get on.

Would the ect switch not be more to tell the car when to put on the fan pal? Was just doing bit of research on it there

It also gives data to ecu for open and closed loop.
Or check you earths ?

Ect also give ecu data for fuel trim , not just fan .

Dude there only 6 euro or something,
Not expensive at all ,
Don't forget to reset your ecu when put back in .

Really that cheap that's grand so get it in motor factors ye ah ye I always do after changing sensors
