Hi guys, just wondering if anybody knows of decent insurers who will insure young drivers on modified cars ?

I am 20 years old with 0 no claims and i have owned my Civic EJ2 for 3 years but recently replaced the engine with a B18C6. Before i converted the vehicle i was quoted £2,400 TPFT but it has now gone down to £2,000, with the same insurance provider as i have recently turned 20.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of a car insurance company who will beat that quote i would be very grateful.

Elephant are worth a try. Im insured on my 9 with all mods declared for £1700 at 19. Still a fortune to spend on insurance but you`ll struggle to get below £1500 these days :mad:

Mikeh91 : Do you have no claims discount on that policy ? Just cause i tried to get insured on a Dc2 import and was quoted £3,200 ! :O

Yea 2.5 years no claims, although Im unsure whether they count the 6 months. The best thing I found to do was to add my parents to the policy. With both as named drivers and me as main policy holder it took my price down a £1000!!:eek::eek:
