iv recently converted my ej9 d14 to a b16! Next step I need to upgrade my brakes, what brakes do people suggest? What do I need for the up grade? I was thinking swapping to 262m from a ek4 would they much better then the standard brakes for the 1.4? Thanks ellis

262mm EK4 brakes should be good enough, some new discs with pads and you'll be set :) I'm pretty sure you will need EK4 vti 4x100 Hubs though too because the 262 calipers won't fit standard ej9 hubs

I thought so but someone selling just callipers an discs "a 262m conversion" told me I didn't need the hubs . Just needed to make sure before I commit my self. I also wasn't sure if I should go 282m! But thanks for your help

I'm pretty sure you do need the hubs as the calipers won't fit ej9, do a bit of research though and I'm sure it'll come up somewhere. 282mm is a good choice but bit more expensive and I believe you'll need a bigger master cylinder. For a b16, 262mm is sufficient enough :) good pads will make a big difference

Is the EJ9 facelift or prefacelift? If its facelift, you already have 262 brakes.

If its prefacelift, you need the hubs as the calliper bolt spacing is different between 242's and 262's.

And also you may have 262mm on 98 pre-facelift. 98 models have the chrome grill with the big "H" logo, 22mm front sway bar, 262mm brakes and rear LCA are already drilled to receive a swaybar. Same setup as EK3 finally except the MC and brake booster which are 13/16, not 15/16.

It's a preface lift With 242mm. Thanks for the help! Also is it worth converting the rear drums to discs? Would I see a big difference?
