Alright lads,

ive noticed that trhe electric windows can be very slow from time to time winding down...

Is this a common problem in civics??

Is there anything i can do to speed up the windows a bit?

Cheers,
Den.

I used sum light grease(wd40) on the edge of the rubbers cos i had the same problem.Worked a dream but u have to keep doin it every so often.

didnt that not make the wondows greasy?:nono: what rubbers? dont they come in contact with the wondows?

Please don't use wd-40, go to the dealer and get some Shin-Etsu grease. Thats the lube used on all window tracks at dealerships.

Take off the interior door panel for access to the tracks.

THE RUBBER AROUND THE WINDOW(SIDES ESPECIALLY).TRUST ME,U WONT HAVE TO CLEAN MUCH & I GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK WITHOUT HAVING TO RIP OFF YOUR DOOR PANEL LIKE DINO SAID.ITS UP 2 U THOUGH.WAS JUST TRYIN TO HELP.:)

dinos kinda right..if you wanna do it properly do it the way he says....but personally you can use silicone grease and it will be just as good.

paddys idea might work but its not a long term solution..do a job poorly and do it twice and all that ;)

yeah you do need to be carefull with wd40 and similar sprays if it gets on to the window it makes a hell of a mess and is a nightmare to get off:nono:

dino, thats good info there, never knew honda used that, im gonna go buy some now, is it just tracks behind panel or other parts it should applied as well ?

slow windows is common all ek, even new from factory there pretty slow

ive used silicone grease (not cheap) down sides of windows which improves things for several months after which you have to spray it on again

I just applied it on all the rubber where the window moves up and down. I'm sure it could be used wherever else you would use silicone grease, such as door hinges.
